A newborn baby shocked doctors after being born while holding his mother's contraceptive IUD.

As reported by Vice, the baby was born in the Hai Phong International Hospital in Hai Phong, Northern Vietnam, and left obstetrician Dr. Tran Viet Phuong in awe.

The baby boy was reportedly born in June of 2020 kicking and screaming, but then Dr. Phuong spotted his mother's IUD (intrauterine device, also known as the 'coil') in the child's hand.

Understandably stunned by what he had just witnessed, Dr. Phuong took a handful of photos and shared them to Facebook.

The photos show the youngster providing the world's worst ad campaign for the contraceptive, as he holds the yellow and black contraceptive coil in his hand.

Since being shared to the social media platform last year, the post has amassed thousands of likes and shares by bewildered (and seriously impressed) social media users.

According to Yahoo News, the baby's mom - who was 34 at the time of the birth - had the IUD inserted to years prior. It probably goes without saying... but it didn't work.

The coil works by releasing either copper or hormones that prevent sperm from being able to fertilize the woman's eggs. However, this mother's IUD is believed to have become ineffective after moving from its original position.

This determined baby was born weighing just shy of eight pounds, and joins his two older siblings.

Meanwhile, over on social media, people's reactions to the story were as comical as you'd expect. One person described the baby as playing the ultimate "power move", whereas another social media user described it as "the biggest f**k you I've ever seeeeeeeen".

And just in case this mother's story has put you off the idea of getting the IUD, Planned Parenthood notes that the contraceptive coil is 99% effective in preventing pregnancies, and they are actually a more trusted form of contraception because there is less chance of people misusing them (which can happen with the pill or condoms).

With such a determination to be born, I have no doubt this kid will grow up to become whatever the hell he wants to be.
