One woman’s attempt to snap the perfect photo with her boyfriend took an unexpectedly funny turn, and TikTok can’t stop laughing.
Megan, who thought she’d captured a sweet countryside moment with her partner, only realised later that a small detail in the picture completely stole the show.
In her viral TikTok post, Megan shared what seemed like a perfectly normal couple photo.
The pair stood together outdoors, smiling in casual outfits; Megan in a black T-shirt and jeans, and her boyfriend in a blue top and joggers, his arm around her shoulder.
Over the first photo, she wrote: “Thinking this was a nice picture with my boyfriend.”
Everything looked perfectly normal, until she zoomed in.
In the next image, Megan revealed the detail that made her burst out laughing: her shadow.
Because of the way the sun was hitting her face, the outline on the ground gave her shadow a hilariously exaggerated pointy nose and chin, making her look like something straight out of a fairy tale.
“Who are you?” she joked in the caption, before adding: “Now I’m even more self-conscious about my side profile!”
The post quickly racked up millions of views and thousands of comments, as people flooded the replies with their own shadow-related fails.
One user wrote: “Girl, I know exactly how you feel, I look like the Wicked Witch!”
Another added: “New fear unlocked!”
A third joked: “Guess all our inner witches are showing in our shadows!”
Someone else commented: “NEW INSECURITY UNLOCKED, like we didn’t already have millions!”
Even Megan jumped in on the fun, replying: “GIRL I KNOW!!!!”
Not everyone spotted the “problem” right away.
Some viewers thought she was pointing out something on her boyfriend’s T-shirt, which happened to have The White Lotus logo printed on it.
“I didn’t even notice!” one commenter admitted.
“I thought you were talking about his White Lotus shirt!”
Another joked: “Me looking up what’s wrong with The White Lotus until I read the comments.”
A third confessed: “Wait, what’s wrong with The White Lotus?! Then I saw it lol!”
By the end of the video, it was clear that Megan’s sense of humour (and her shadow’s accidental resemblance to a cartoon villain) had made her a new TikTok favourite.
As one commenter summed it up perfectly: “That’s the Wicked 2 movie poster.”
To which Megan cheekily replied: “HAHAHAHAHA early release.”
