A woman has proven that noise-canceling AirPods really do what they set out to, as she was none the wiser when she ran through an active shooting.

TikToker Christina (@movementwithtina) was on a run as per her normal routine, but she had no idea she had stumbled across a dangerous situation.

An eight-hour manhunt occurred after alleged gunman 24-year-old Deion Duwane Patterson fatally shot a woman and injured four more people.

As reported by CNN, the US Coast Guard veteran suspected of committing the shooting was arrested in a condo complex in Atlanta eight hours after allegedly committing the crime in a medical waiting room.

Seemingly unaware of the ongoing situation was Christina, who uploaded a video to TikTok where she outlined how she was in the heart of it without realizing it.

Over her video, Christina wrote: "POV your AirPods are on noise-canceling and your phone is on DND so you don’t realize you just ran through an active shooting."

She further explained the background noises in the caption: "The sirens in the back and my blissful unawareness is sending me. But for real this was actually really intense and I'm so sorry for those injured and everyone impacted."

During the video, Christina is running through a residential neighborhood with a smile on her face while giving a thumbs up to the camera, unaware of the chaotic noises in the background.

When questioned about how good her AirPods are, the TikToker posted a follow-up video where she further explained the events.

"Basically, I live in midtown Atlanta, and I went on a 5k run," Christina began. "I went my usual route and I put my phone on Do Not Disturb - I always do that when I go on my run. I had my AirPods on noise canceling because I was running through residential streets, and there are always lots of people out there, and I never had any issues on those streets."

"To get to the residential streets, I had to run through the main parts of the city to get to those parts. So I ran past caution tape, a bunch of cops, ambulances, all this kind of stuff – swarms of people outside."

Christina continued that police tape and scenes similar to this are commonplace in Atlanta so she thought nothing of it and kept about her business.

She did soon notice that something was awry. "Once I realized there were more cops going down the residential streets, clearly they were looking for the shooter. That's when I kind of started thinking something was up," she said.

"I took a quick break and I looked at my phone, and I saw my boyfriend had tried to call me and had texted me multiple times saying like, ‘Hey, it’s on your route, please answer’."

The TikToker confirmed that she was unharmed in the incident and decided to take a different route home.

The alleged shooter faces one count of murder and four counts of aggravated assault. CNN stated that this was one of 192 shootings in the US where four or more people were harmed in 2023.
