As the professional wrestling world mourns the loss of Sara Ann Lee, her final post on social media post has come to light.
On Thursday, October 6, the star's mom took to Facebook to share the heartbreaking news. Terri Lee wrote in a post: "It is with heavy hearts we wanted to share that our Sara Weston has gone to be with Jesus.
"We are all in shock and arrangements are not complete. We ask that you respectfully let our family mourn. We all need prayers especially Cory and her children."
Sara Lee - also known by her ring name Hope - first shot to fame back in 2015 when she was revealed as one of the contestants on the WWE reality TV series, Tough Enough. The show saw wrestling hopefuls train and complete challenges in order to try and earn a WWE contract.
Although Lee faced steep competition from future WWE stars like Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, she was eventually voted the female winner of the season, earning a $250,000 one-year contract with WWE.
She spent most of her time in WWE performing for the company's developmental territory, NXT, before being released the following year.
However, her stint in the company led to her meeting her future husband, fellow wrestling Wesley Blake (real name Cory James Weston). The couple eventually married in December 2017, and went on to welcome a daughter and two sons.
Following Lee's unexpected passing, her final heartbreaking post has been flooded with messages and tributes from fans.
Posing in front of a mirror, Lee can be seen showing off her impressive physique, captioning the post: "Celebrating finally being healthy enough to go to the gym 2 days in a row [...] first ever sinus infection kicked my butt #Saraselfie #gains".
In the post's comments section, one fan wrote the message: "Rest In Peace Beautiful, taken from us way too soon."
A second added: "I’m just so sorry…sending love and light to your family. You’ll be so missed Sara. Rest In Peace."
Others wrote comments in disbelief that the post was shared on October 4 - just two days prior to the news of Lee's passing.
Following the news of Lee's death, the wrestling world has paid tribute to the late wrestler, with WWE writing: "WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of Sara Lee. As a former 'Tough Enough' winner, Lee served as an inspiration to many in the sports-entertainment world. WWE offers its heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and fans."
Former WWE Women's Champion Alexa Bliss also shared a photo of Lee and Blake at her own wedding, writing: "We love you Sara. So heartbreaking. Please keep Cory & their family in your thoughts and prayers."
WWE Superstar Nikki A.S.H shared several photos of her time with Lee, writing: "You were so good in so many ways. You loved your family and friends so much. you were so giving, warm and selfless. You made me giggle. No matter how long we went without seeing each other, we would always pick up right where we left. I love you Sara."
Additionally, former WWE wrestler Bull James (real name James Smith), has launched a GoFundMe to raise money for Lee's family. As of this writing, more than $93,000 has been raised, with AEW owner Tony Khan donating $10,000, WWE Superstar Kevin Owens donating $5,000, and current Ring of Honor world champion Chris Jericho donating $2,500.
Our thoughts continue to go out to Sara Ann Lee's family, friends, and fans at this time.
