Save the date, because you are cordially invited to
Prince Harry and
Meghan Markle's wedding! Well, actually you won't be allowed at the ceremony, but you are cordially invited to watch it on TV. The Royal Wedding will take place at Windsor Castle in May 2018. There isn't an exact date yet, so just to be safe, you should take the whole month of May off work.
The couple announced their engagement a month ago, thrilling the world. Meghan Markle, an actress best known for the TV show Suits, will join the short list of Americans who became
princesses. We've learned so much about the couple since then. Meghan showed off her dazzling three diamond
engagement ring. An Instagram post revealed their wedding cake will be
banana flavored. And their ceremony will have follow a whole list of strict royal
traditions, like "female guests must wear hats."

But today there's some very exciting news. Kensington Palace has released the couple's official engagement photographs. The stunning pictures were by taken by fashion photographer
Alexi Lubomirski at Frogmore House in Windsor. In the first photo, they pose together on stairs, with Meghan's rock front and center.

The second picture is in black-and-white, and features the couple cuddled close together, laughing about something. We don't know what they're laughing about, but I'm going to assume The Queen was off camera, and told a really dirty joke. In a statement from the palace, the photographer who took these beautiful photos said the experience was a real honor:
“It was an incredible honor to be asked to document this wonderful event, but also a great privilege to be invited to share and be a witness to this young couple’s love for one another. I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took of them, such was their happiness together.”

Originally, the couple were just going to release those two photos. But after getting such a warm reception, they decided to share one more. The third picture is a candid black-and-white image of them strolling through the picturesque gardens. We get a full body view of Harry's impeccable suit and Meghan's lovely ruffled black dress. In the caption, Kensington Palace thanks their followers:
"Thank you so much for all of the wonderful comments following the release of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle's engagement photographs. The couple are so grateful for the warm and generous messages they have received during such a happy time in their lives. As a way to say thank you, they have decided to share this candid photograph from the day of their portrait sittings directly with all of you."
The royal couple sure looks great together in these engagement photos. Hopefully when they get married, they'll release some more candid photos, of them getting totally wasted at the reception. They'd probably still look stunning.
