Now that
is over and there's an ending in sight to the previously endless-seeming slew of leftover turkey sandwiches, we can turn our attentions to 2018, and more pertinently,
.
For some people, that means finding someone special to hold close as the fireworks fly; for others, that means drinking so much that when the clocks hit midnight, they genuinely don't know what year it is.
Some people, though, will take a little bit of time at the end of the year to review all that's gone on in their lives, and look for ways to make things better this time 12 months from now.
From pledging to finally write that screenplay to spending altogether way too much money on a gym membership, the backbone of any New Year's Resolution is self-improvement.
Sometimes, though, in order to adequately improve ourselves, we need a helping hand, and that's where a really good partner comes in.
With that in mind, let's take a look at the life of the Suits actress
, who's recently gotten engaged to
of the British Royal Family (if this is news to you, then I hope the rock you've been living under for the past couple of months was nice and comfy). You'd imagine he'd be doing his level best to make sure that his fiancée has the best life possible, and wouldn't you know it: that even extends to her New Year's Resolutions.

Of course, we may not be privy to Markle's goals for the year 2018 and beyond, but if her 2017 resolutions are anything to go by, then I think Prince Harry could be facing a big challenge. On her now-defunct blog called The Tig, the 36-year-old revealed that she pretty much makes the same resolutions every year, aiming to become more "ladylike".
"Stop biting my nails. Stop swearing. These make my New Year's resolution list nearly (AKA actually every) single year. The swearing comes in lulls triggered by being overworked or feeling mighty cheeky after a couple drinks. And when it comes to the biting of the nails – well, it still happens with a turbulent flight or a stressful day. It's unladylike. But then again, so is the swearing. Dammit."

Markle also aimed to run a marathon at some point in 2017, as well as reignite her drive to study French, and while the results on those resolutions is a little mixed, I don't imagine "become a member of the Royal Family" was anywhere on there, so I think overall, Meghan Markle's year evens out at a solid B+.
Of course, Meghan Markle shut down The Tig sometime in April after three years of blogging, sparking the first of many rumours that she was about to get engaged to the guy she was dating at the time - some guy named Harry who was apparently fifth in line to the English throne. Whatever happened to that, I wonder.
