Apple has officially unveiled the new iPhone 17, and here's everything you need to know about it.

Apple’s highly anticipated event introduced several groundbreaking new products, including the sleek new iPhone Air, which the company claims to be “impossibly thin” and the thinnest iPhone ever.

Key iPhone Air features

At just 5.5mm thick, the iPhone Air is a significant departure from previous models like the iPhone 16, which measured 7.8mm.

While not the thinnest smartphone ever made, this ultra-slim device certainly stands out.

Made from durable titanium, the iPhone Air is not only thinner but also more resilient than any previous iPhone, with the company boasting that it's the most durable model yet.

It comes in an array of colors, including space black, cloud white, light gold, and sky blue.

As expected, the iPhone Air replaces the iPhone 16 Plus, offering a larger screen size than the regular iPhone 17, but maintaining the same slim form factor.

The iPhone Air doesn’t sacrifice performance for size. Equipped with a 48-megapixel Fusion camera system, it pairs a wide-angle lens with a 2x telephoto zoom.

It’s also capable of shooting video simultaneously with both the front and rear cameras - perfect for those who love to share content on social media.

Though there’s some concern over battery life in such a slim device, Apple promises "all-day battery life," aided by a new adaptive power mode in iOS 26 that learns your usage habits.

For those who need an extra boost, Apple has introduced a new ultra-slim MagSafe battery pack accessory, making it easy to top up your charge without compromising the phone's sleek design.

Notably, the iPhone Air also does away with the traditional SIM card slot, requiring users to use an eSIM instead.

The iPhone 17: Big Screen, Big Features

Alongside the iPhone Air, Apple also introduced the iPhone 17, which offers some impressive upgrades.

With a slightly larger 6.3-inch display - up from the previous 6.1 inches - the iPhone 17 now includes a 120Hz ProMotion display, allowing for smoother animations and enhanced gaming and sports viewing experiences.

The new A19 chip inside promises better performance and improved energy efficiency, resulting in longer battery life.

The iPhone 17 comes in new colors, including lavender, mist blue, black, white, and sage, and is equipped with Apple's new 120Hz ProMotion panels for smoother scrolling.

The new camera system allows for easy switching between portrait and landscape shots without needing to rotate the phone. Additionally, the selfie camera offers improved stability for video capture.

With a starting price of $799, the iPhone 17 offers significant upgrades in both display and processing power, making it an appealing choice for those looking for an advanced device without stepping up to the Pro models.

The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max: Power Meets Performance

The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, Apple’s top-tier models, pack all the latest tech in a more premium package.

The Pro models boast a larger screen - 6.3 inches for the Pro and a massive 6.9 inches for the Pro Max, making the latter almost tablet-sized.

Apple has opted for aluminum bodies on the Pro models instead of titanium, a decision that may seem surprising given the luxurious nature of these phones.

However, aluminum is lighter and more efficient at dissipating heat, which enhances performance.

The new camera bump design on the Pro models spans the entire back of the phone, signaling to onlookers that you’re holding the high-end version.

Inside, the iPhone 17 Pro models include an innovative vapor cooling system to maintain performance during heavy use.

Apple claims the iPhone 17 Pro offers 40% better sustained performance than its predecessor, making it ideal for gamers, video editors, and AI-heavy tasks.

Battery life is another area where the iPhone 17 Pro models shine. The iPhone 17 Pro Max boasts the "best battery life ever in an iPhone," with up to 39 hours of video playback.
