Someone figured out what that handle on car ceilings is for

The internet is a magical place. We've got social media, Google search, and best of all – a constant live stream of an outdoor hot tub in Japan, exclusively put to use by wild snow monkeys. Seriously. It's thanks to the internet that we're more informed about things happening around the world, and it means we have the luxury of researching whatever topic we might be curious about at any given time. It enables democracy, as people can add their input and voice their opinions about all manner of things, usually on social media sites. Using this power, a Californian teenager has turned to the internet to ask a very serious question. 18-year-old Aimee posted a photo on Twitter and inquired about a very pressing matter: [[twitterwidget||https://twitter.com/ShineMyGold/status/913415733492830208]] "Serious question, what the f**k is this for?" read the caption. She's asking about that random handle/hand-rail on the ceiling of cars, placed ever so discreetly above the window. And good point: what is it actually for?

Well, the internet answered, and here are a handful of suggestions:

But that doesn't seem quite right.

One answer came to become a widely accepted universal truth, shaking everyone's very core – but only because it was something that apparently everyone knew all along:

Her tweet got over 375,000 likes, and more than 120,000 retweets, so it's safe to say that everyone agrees.
