"I think Georgina needs to take a stand and be there for her husband," Lohan said, "and he's never harmed me or did anything wrong to me. We've done several movies together, and so I think everyone needs to stop. I think it's wrong. So stand up."
Yet only two films starring Lohan had Weinstein credited in production on IMDb. One was Bobby, the 2006 film portraying Robert F Kennedy's assassination, and Weinstein was only listed as a 'Special Thanks' credit. And the other was Scary Movie 5, where Lohan played herself. Weinstein was an executive producer in this film from 2013. Lohan's comments about Chapman needing to stand by her husband came after Weinstein's wife of 10 years announced she was leaving him. She stayed silent for five days, with Weinstein claiming in an interview following the allegations that his wife was standing by him “100 per cent". But that wasn't the case."My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband," Chapman told People. "Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time."
While he may not have assaulted Lohan, her unusual rant came straight after more allegations from high profile actresses, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie, who also claimed Weinstein sexually harassed them when they were younger.
Lohan deleted the videos after they were uploaded, perhaps after receiving backlash for her comments defending the man. She has made no further comments about her opinion on the matter.
