‘Third Wheel’ best man hijacks best friend’s wedding photos and it’s hilarious

It sucks when you're a third wheel. Sure, the couple you're hanging out with may say you're not intruding, but it's hard to feel comfortable. The implication is that they're just hanging out with you out of pity, or that your presence is superfluous. It's an awkward situation, especially if you're single. The more your friends act like a loving couple, the more you feel like you'll be alone forever. (Cue that Debbie Downer "wah wah" sound effect.) However, for the first time in history, being a third wheel actually worked out. When Kody and Brittney Frysinger got married, it went without saying that Kody's longtime friend Mitch Jolliff would be the best man. But Mitch's involvement didn't end there. They asked him to participate in the wedding photos, and poke fun at the new dynamic in their relationship. (While Kody and Brittney are very much in love, Mitch is very much still single.) We've seen a lot of creative wedding photos, featuring everything from sexually suggestive poses to Pennywise The Clown to a photobombing baby hippo. However, these 'third wheel' shots might take the cake. In the first one, Brittney and Kody sit on a wooden bridge and share a kiss. Meanwhile, Mitch sits beside them, kissing the air, desperately trying to feel the love but falling oh-so-short. The bride and groom's shoes spell out the words "I do," while the Mitch's shoes add a couple letters to turn the phrase into "I don't." In the second picture, Mitch gives up on trying to experience the romance. Instead, he crosses his arms and pouts, looking off into the distance, repulsed by the public display of affection. Now the soles of the bride's shoes read "I won," while the soles of  the third wheel's shoes read "Shut up," with an image of a broken heart. Sorry, Mitch. You'll never get to hang out with Kody again! Better get a new best friend! Don't feel sorry for Mitch, though. He's just pretending to be mad and depressed (at least, that's what he says). The hilarious pictures were taken by Lindsey Berger of Country Roads Photography; and so far, they've been shared over 150,000 times on Facebook. Mitch's grumpy poses are facetious, but clearly a lot of people relate to his situation. In an interview, Berger explained where she got the idea for the priceless shots: “I thought, how fun would it be to do a follow-up and show everyone how Mitch was handling the wedding! I explained to them what I wanted, and then Mitch just owned the photo. He just made my vision come to life in a way I never could have imagined, and I am so grateful for that. These kids are just so much fun to be around and they would do anything I asked of them. And those are best types of clients — people who do not take themselves too seriously, and know how to have a good time.” Congratulations to Kody and Brittney on your marriage! I hope you let Mitch hang out with you during the honeymoon, too.
