Twenty people now confirmed dead and 100 injured in Las Vegas strip shooting

"We went into the hotel and they started shutting down casinos. We tried to get into our rooms, and they shut down the elevators and started to get everybody out."

Sheriff Lombardo dismissed reports that there were multiple shooters, as well as claims that there were incidents in other areas of the city. It is believed that the gunman acted alone, starting the shooting at around 10:20 PM on Sunday, though his motives are not yet known. This "sole aggressor" was shot dead in his room.
