Man missing for two years found after family spot him in TikTok

A man who had been missing for two years was reunited with his family after being spotted in an influencer’s TikTok video.

41-year-old philosopher and musician Diego Londoño was being searched for fruitlessly by his concerned family, but he was eventually found thanks to the efforts of an intrepid social media influencer.

Amy Solano, an Ecuadorian businesswoman, got wind of the family’s search and voluntarily travelled to the Peruvian city of Chiclayo in search of Diego.

What she found there surprised everyone.

How an influencer’s TikTok helped Diego Londoño’s family find him

Seemingly against all odds, Solano chose to travel to Chiclayo after seeing several reporters from punters they had spotted Londoño in the nearby city of Màncora.

On the first day of her arrival, there we no clues or leads to follow…but she didn’t give up.

On September 25, Solano captured Londoño on camera, something she included in a now-viral TikTok summarising the impassioned search for the musician.

Londoño’s health had been significantly impacted before his disappearance. Once greatly invested in his local community, he fell upon hard times once he was diagnosed with senile dementia, making him especially vulnerable as a missing person.

Thanks to Solano’s efforts, Londoño was picked up by the authorities and was in the custody of the Peruvian National Police (PNP) at a station in Chiclayo.

Even better, his family were finally informed that, after two years of searching, he’d at last been found.

Has Diego Londoño been reunited with his family?

Following his stay in custody for his safety, Londoño plans to travel from Chiclayo to Lima, the largest city in Peru.

By plane, the journey would take an hour and a half.

From there, Londoño plans to finally reunite with his family in Colombia.
