Queen Máxima of the Netherlands has drawn attention online after a moment during a NATO summit photo session in which she appeared to mimic U.S. President Donald Trump’s speaking style, while standing right next to him.

The moment occurred during Trump’s visit to the Netherlands on Wednesday for the NATO summit. The President posed for photos alongside Queen Máxima and her husband, King Willem-Alexander, shortly after his arrival in the country.

In the video clip circulating on social media, the trio is seen standing together and smiling as Trump flashes his signature thumbs-up gesture. The King stood slightly closer to Trump, while Queen Máxima maintained a bit more distance.

As they exchanged brief pleasantries, Trump quipped: “That’s the picture we want,” after the King asked if he had slept well. “It was great, the house is…” Trump began, smiling once more and thanking those present.

At that moment, Queen Máxima appeared to imitate the movement of Trump’s mouth before turning back toward the cameras. While she didn’t speak, her subtle gesture quickly caught viewers’ attention online.

Social media users were quick to interpret the moment.

One commenter wrote: “I’ve never been a fan of our stiff monarchy, but Queen Máxima rocks it! Treat him like a baby.”

Another chimed in: “Queeeen Máxima! Love her!”

Others noted the distance she kept from Trump, with one writing: “Looks like she calculated how much separation from Trump she could get while still being in the picture.”

However, not all reactions were positive. Some criticized the Queen’s behavior, with one commenter calling it “creepy,” and another adding: “How low can you stoop as the so-called queen of Dutch people who don’t exist… despicable to the core.”

Despite the online chatter, Queen Máxima has not commented on the moment.

The former U.S. president was in the Netherlands as part of a broader diplomatic mission, which included a high-stakes NATO gathering. Notably, First Lady Melania Trump did not accompany him on this overseas trip.

Trump’s arrival followed his announcement of a successful ceasefire between Israel and Iran, which he claims was facilitated through diplomatic efforts led by his administration, per CNN.

Over the weekend, Trump authorized strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities to support Israel amid escalating tensions.

According to Trump, both Israel and Iran had approached him “almost simultaneously” to help bring an end to the missile exchanges.

He credited coordination with Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and special Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, along with Qatari mediators, in helping broker the ceasefire.

Trump’s visit to the NATO summit had been scheduled prior to the ceasefire agreement.

Upon his arrival, leaders rolled out the red carpet and gathered for a formal welcome, including a toast-filled dinner ahead of a packed day of diplomacy and high-level discussions.
