In late September 2016, the internet gave birth to
Danielle Bregoli. In what was one of the weirdest parts of a very strange year (although 2017 has managed to eclipse it), Bregoli rose to fame off of the back of her appearance on the TV show 'Doctor Phil'.
Appearing on the show in an episode in which
parents tried to deal with their unruly teens, Bregoli ended up dropping one of the hottest catchphrases to have been graced a television screen - and has since become a Z-list celebrity off the back of it.

Barbara Ann, Danielle's mom, appeared on the show and revealed that her child would run away four times in one day, as well as steal her credit cards and use them to buy herself material goods.
The 14-year-old, who wasn't best pleased at the allegations being aimed at her by her mother, took exception to some of the "whores" in the audience, who could be heard laughing at her. As things escalated, Danielle asked the audience: "Catch me outside, how about that?"

But, because of her accent, her threat sounded a lot more like: "Cash me ousside, how bow dah?" And, just like that, an internet sensation was born.
Speaking to TMZ at the time of the catchphrase becoming a viral sensation, Danielle said:
"It's just something that happened!"
"I can't control what ya'll people decide to do with me."

Since her appearance on the show, Danielle has gone on to become a bonafide celebrity. The 14-year-old now has 11 million followers on Instagram and charges up to $40,000 per sponsored post. However, it appears that she is also set to make serious steps into the world of music.
Bregoli's stage name is '
Bhad Bharbie' and she became the youngest person to ever chart on the Billboard 100 in September 2017. Her newest release, 'Mama Don't Worry (Still Ain't Dirty)', sees the meme-cum-rapper appear with a braided ponytail as she raps auto-tuned lyrics in her childhood home. A previous release, 'I Got It,' saw the teenager bragging about her six-figure bank account while deriding jealous "bitches" from the front seat of a Rolls-Royce.

While Danielle certainly draws plenty of her image and musical influence from black, hip-hop culture, she denies that she is a culture vulture and has rubbished the notion of cultural appropriation altogether. During an interview with The Fader to mark the release of her latest single, Bregoli claims the cultural appropriation is "ridiculous."

“I look at that cultural appropriation shit and I just ignore it because it’s ridiculous,” she says. “You cannot act a color. Do not tell me I’m acting black because I’m not.”
"I get braids all the time, you can’t tell me I’m acting black because I braid my hair. That makes no sense whatsoever."
No doubt Bregoli will attract some negative attention for her comments surrounding cultural appropriation. Although, for stars like Danielle, all publicity is good publicity and she more than likely made the comments knowing it would trigger a lot of people.
