Yes, they may they have a lot of lighthearted qualities such as being affectionate, energetic and playful - but they're also wired towards guarding people and things that they value.

This is why we couldn't help but laugh when we came across a certain pup who insists on guarding her family's bread every time they leave the house. The guarder of bread in question, six-year-old German rottweiler Jakey, takes her duties very seriously. So much so that the dog's owner Katrina Frank, 30, couldn't help but share the footage with the world.

According to Frank, whenever the family leave the house, Jakey will protect the bread, and other baked goods she can get her paws on. Whenever Frank would try to hide the bread, Jakey would somehow manage to find it and proceed with "keeping it safe".

It's likely, due to how often the dog sees her family with bread, Jakey has come to the conclusion that it is a treasured possession, and thus strives to keep it safe.
