I think it's fair to say that pretty much everyone on the planet is absolutely terrified of spiders to some extent. Sure, this fear might vary in intensity, but the vast majority of us simply can't stand the creepy, eight-legged creatures.
And to be honest, the fear is perfectly justified. I mean, spiders are undeniably sinister in appearance, they're alarmingly stealthy and they have eight creepy-looking legs. Not to mention the fact that some species are venomous.
This is the unsettling moment an intimidatingly large spider appears to stalk an unsuspecting officer during a traffic stop:
The truth is, we are a world filled with arachnophobes, which is particularly unfortunate considering spiders are absolutely everywhere. Even the tiniest, least threatening spiders give us the creeps - so imagine how distressed you would be to find out that one of them had been hiding in your hood without you realizing.
These British tourists were absolutely terrified when a giant spider scuttled towards them in the Dominican Republic:One girl, Olivia Nunn, from Nunthorpe, Middlesbrough in England experienced just that. In fact, she only came to the realization that the creature had crawled into her hood after sending a "hungover selfie" to a group chat.
Olivia's eagle-eyed pal Grace Graham then posted the picture on her Twitter page, writing: "Nearly 24 hours later I still cannot get over Olivia sending a hungover selfie in the group chat and there’s a spider just chilling in her hood."
Of course, the shocking revelation spawned a number of responses.
One person wrote: "It’s the fact its got her trapped in there like Ryan Reynolds in Buried. Nowhere to run. Can’t take the hood down, can’t move, can’t blink, nothing."
Another wrote: "noPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE F*CK THAT [sic]."
