A 17-year-old girl has been captured on film heroically saving her dogs from a black bear in her backyard.

In a now viral video taken by a security camera in her California home, a bear can be seen making its way along a garden wall before four dogs appear and begin barking at them. The clip was reportedly filmed on Memorial Day, May 31.

A black dog then narrowly avoids being taken by the bear, whose cub had already ran away. It was then when 17-year-old Hailey Morinico bravely saved her dogs from being taken by the bear.

Without any hesitation, she knocks the bear off the wall to save the dogs before running inside to safety.

The shocking incident was captured on a surveillance camera and later uploaded to TikTok by Morinico's cousin who wrote: "My cousin Hailey yeeted a bear off her fence today and saved her dogs. How was your Memorial Day?!"

Needless to say, the footage has gone viral on social media, with many people left in awe of the risk Morinico was willing to take to save the dogs.

Actor Chris Evans wrote: "This is insane. Zero hesitation."

Another wrote: "You love your dog. But do you love your dog enough to shove a bear?"

While another added: "Bruh people will 1v1 bears for our dogs, the pact between us runs that deep [sic]."

A fourth Twitter user added: "That's some good form. Giants need additional OL depth and at 17, this girl is already tossing a wildly protective momma brown bear over a wall. Boss level stuff."

While another chimed in: "I promise if my future dog loses his mind and run up on a bear he’ll be taking that L on his own."

In an interview with NBC Los Angeles, Morinico said of the incident: "I was like 'Oh my God, there’s a bear, and it is taking my dog. It is lifting her up off the ground. The dog that the bear grabbed, she's the baby, I have to protect the baby."

She went on to post another TikTok explaining that she went outside when she heard the commotion.

She added: "I go over and look the bear in the eyes, and the first thing I think to do is push it. Push a bear, push an apex predator. And to be honest, I don't think I pushed her that hard, just enough to make her lose her balance, so she drops my dog and I run out of there!"
