A woman has divided the internet after she dyed her dog red and green to look like the Grinch.

Ashley Spielmann is really getting into the Christmas spirit this year, but rather than just decorating her home like the rest of us, she's taken it one step further and decorated her dog.

Yes, you read that right, her dog.

Posting to TikTok, the mom-of-five shocked social media users as she showed them how she transformed her white Schnauzer to a shocking neon green and red combination.

Check out a picture of the pooch below:

Let's just say the entire fiasco sparked a massive debate online, with some slamming Spielmann for "animal abuse."

"Kinda looks like animal abuse to me, idk," commented one user.

"I feel bad he or she looks so sad," added another.

"Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should," a third stated.

However, some people did jump in to defend the TikToker.

"People on here saying it’s awful… same parents letting their middle schoolers put about 14 different colors in their hair. I love it!!!"

"Y'all saying poor dog. Does he feel the hair dye, does it hurt? no lol. As long as it's pet safe literally who cares," said another social media user.

"People be like dying my hair is ok but dying doggos is not lol."

Regardless of the comments, it seems as though Spielmann's loving the Grinch vibe for her pet.

In another video posted to her platform, she claimed that the groomer had "slayed" the transformation, later adding that she did not believe that dyeing your pet with safe coloring was "abuse."

And just to double down on it, a groomer herself also commented under one of the videos, notifying users that it is not considered abusive to dye your dog.

"He looks precious!!! As a groomer this is absolutely not abuse in any way... It's no different than putting babies in beauty pageants all dolled up."

So, don't worry guys, despite the change looking a little extreme, the pup is fine and happy. And the bonus is that he looks to be in the Christmas spirit.

What more could we ask for?
