2017 will go down as a year that was full of scandal and allegations of sexual harassment in Hollywood. The previous 12 months have seen Harvey Weinstein have his name pulled across the front pages of the press, as copious amounts of women came forward to accuse to movie mogul of various acts of sexual assault.
As more women built up the courage to speak out, other big names in the world of showbiz were also accused of a variety of different acts. Terry Crews said that he was a victim of inappropriate behaviour, Ed Westwick was accused of rape, and Kevin Spacey found himself embroiled in accusations regarding an incident involving then-teenager, Anthony Rapp.

Since coming forward with his story, Rapp has gone quiet. However, in his first interview since going public, the Star Trek actor has spoken candidly about the incident and the furore which followed.
Talking to Attitude magazine, Rapp said: "There are so many different shades and degrees of this kind of behaviour and these kinds of situations, but the most insidious to me is when it's an abuse of power.
"No matter what, I would urge anybody to stay safe, take care of themselves and each other and to get help and support when they need it."
Rapp made the accusations against Spacey back in October. Spacey is accused of being sexually persuasive and forward with the then-14-year-old Rapp, who claims that the House of Cards actor ended up "laying down on top" of him.

Anthony says that it was the wave of accusations by female actresses against Harvey Weinstein that triggered him to come forward with his story.
"There is no such thing as truly being alone, which is what I hope this moment demonstrates, that there is strength in numbers.
"I did it to stand on the shoulders of all that I was witnessing around me. I was hopeful that sharing my story would have an impact."
In his initial allegations, Rapp described how Spacey had "picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold. I was aware that he was trying to get with me sexually."
He went on to describe how the actor "was, like, pressing into" him and "tightening his arms."
"It was a frozen moment," he said. "In terms of fight or flight or freeze, I tend to freeze."

After the allegations gathered attention, Spacey issued an apology on his social media accounts which was ridiculed by the public. In it, the actor came out as a gay man, something which was seen a tool deployed by Spacey to avoid the allegations aimed at him in order to create a new headline.
However, the tactic didn't work and since the accusations, the sixth series of House Of Cards has been cancelled and his part in All Of The Money In The World was entirely edited out, with Spacey being replaced by Christopher Plummer.
Anthony's bravery in coming forward and speaking out about the incident with Spacey must be applauded. No doubt that through his actions, Rapp has made it easier for men to come forward and talk about these issues.
