Jennifer Aniston has revealed how Murder Mystery co-star Adam Sandler sends her flowers every Mother's Day in support after her well documented struggles with fertility.
Last year, Aniston opened up about her fertility journey and the struggles it has brought her, in an incredibly open and honest interview with Allure. During the interview, the Friends star explained how she spent years "trying to get pregnant", describing it as a "challenging" period of her life.
“I would say my late 30s, 40s, I’d gone through really hard s**t, and if it wasn’t for going through that, I would’ve never become who I was meant to be," Aniston explained. "That’s why I have such gratitude for all those s**tty things. Otherwise, I would’ve been stuck being this person that was so fearful, so nervous, so unsure of who they were. And now, I don’t f**king care.”
Various tabloids and media outlets over the years falsely reported that the reason Aniston's marriages to Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux ended in divorce was due to the Morning Show actor not wanting to have children. Of course, given the struggles that Aniston has since opened up about, these reports were nothing more than misogynistic rumor mongering.
“All the years and years and years of speculation... It was really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. I would’ve given anything if someone had said to me, ‘Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.’ You just don’t think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed.”
Despite her struggles, Aniston stated that she had no regrets, telling Allure, “I have zero regrets. I actually feel a little relief now because there is no more, ‘Can I? Maybe. Maybe. Maybe.’ I don’t have to think about that anymore.”
Addressing the media speculation that surrounded her two divorces, Aniston said, the “narrative that I was just selfish. I just cared about my career. And God forbid a woman is successful and doesn’t have a child. And the reason my husband left me, why we broke up and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn’t give him a kid. It was absolute lies. I don’t have anything to hide at this point.”
In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, Aniston has revealed how Murder Mystery 1 and 2 co-star Adam Sandler and his wife Jackie send her a bouquet of flowers every Mother's Day as a show of support for everything the 54-year-old Emmy winner has gone through with her fertility journey.
Aniston has been friends with Sandler for decades, as they both rose to prominence in the '90s with huge hits; Aniston with Friends and movies such as Office Space and Sandler with a string of Hollywood successes such as Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison and Big Daddy.
The pair also starred in 2011 romantic comedy Just Go With It together before 2019's Murder Mystery for Netflix, which was so successful it spawned this year's sequel on the streaming platform.
