Adele broke down in tears during an episode of Carpool Karaoke with James Corden as she opened up about her divorce.
The iconic singer, 34, is undeniably one of the biggest stars on the planet right now, as her incredible talent mixed with her down-to-earth attitude makes her very appealing to millions of people across the world.
So who could possibly be more fitting as a final guest on Carpool Karaoke before James Corden steps down as the host of The Late Late Show?
As reported by The Sun, during her time behind the wheel, Adele opened up about her divorce and how Corden and his wife supported her through a turbulent time in her life.
Watch the emotional moment below:The singer finalized her divorce from Simon Konecki in March 2021, two years after their relationship ended.
Thanks to the support of 44-year-old Corden and his wife Julia Carey, Adele was inspired to write a verse in her song 'I Drink Wine' about the time she spent with the pair.
"[The verse] was inspired by a conversation that you and I had, and it was January 4, 2020, or something, and we’d been on vacation together with the kids," Adele said.
She continued: "We were on our way home and my mood had changed and it was like the first year that I felt like I had to hold myself accountable, for just being an adult, whereas the year before that I left Simon, that you and Jules and the kids were so integral in looking after me and Angelo.
"You used to do it with humor as well, you used to be like, ‘Good luck with that one!’ with any sort of thing that I was pursuing, and you were always so, you were like an adult with me. You and Julia would always give me this advice."
It is evident that the two stars have had a profound impact on each other's lives as they both became teary-eyed during the final installment of Carpool Karaoke.
Corden also showed his vulnerable side as he discussed his reasons for stepping down from the show, admitting that he wasn't happy with his life in the US.
Admitting that the Into the Woods actor's admission made her feel "unsafe", Adele was further inspired to put these feelings into her work.
"I went to the studio a couple of weeks later, and I wrote this and I sang it into my phone and I sent it to you and I do remember you saying, ‘That’s exactly how I was feeling'," Adele said.
To which Corden responded: "It was everything that I was feeling that day. I was floored by how you’d managed to take everything that I was feeling myself, and … just put it in a verse."
The talk show host admitted that leaving the show was a tough decision due to the relationships he has formed over the years, but he feels that it is time for him and his family "to go home".
