Sex Education's Aimee Lou Wood and Connor Swindells are a couple in real life.

Now, in case your memory needs refreshing, in the hit Netflix coming-of-age series, we saw Aimee Gibbs (Aimee Lou Wood) and Adam Groff (Connor Swindells) attempt to make their way through an almost inevitably turbulent teenage relationship.

If you haven't seen it yet, this is the official trailer for Sex Education season two:

And while the pair are no longer together on screen - with Aimee facing an extremely distressing but important storyline and Adam grappling with his sexuality in season two - in real life, the pair have hit it off, and they have recently gone public with their relationship on Instagram.

Wood captioned the post, which was in celebration of Swindells' birthday: "HAPPY DAY OF BIRTH SWINDELLS YOU BEAUTIFUL MAGNIFICENT MAN. You've been a warrior king forever in the hundreds of lives you have already lived but now you're my ?. "

Much to the delight of Sex Education fans, she added: "Big thank you to Adam Groff and Aimee Gibbs for making all this possible..."

Following their decision to go public, the pair have opened up in an interview with the Telegraph about how they were able to distinguish their sex scenes on the show from their own personal life. They had an "intimacy director" who choreographed everything they did on the show.

The pair explained that they became a couple after filming the first series, and the choreographing of their sex scenes was important to them as: "There is no confusion to be had between our sex scenes on the show and our own personal life.

"That way, it's like you're not taking anything from your own life. When you do that, you get home at the end of the day and you're depressed and you feel vulnerable, because you've just shown people what you do in the most personal, vulnerable situation."

Congrats, guys!
