Yesterday marked day two of Amber Heard's testimony against her ex-husband Johnny Depp.

In Fairfax County Court, Virginia, the actor gave jurors a harrowing account of a time Depp allegedly beat her so hard she thought he was "going to kill" her.

The celebrity exes are currently embroiled in a $5o million defamation trial, with Depp suing Heard over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed in which she claimed to be a survivor of domestic abuse. Depp, 58, is arguing that the allegations ruined his reputation and career and maintains that he was the real victim in their marriage.

Heard, meanwhile, is countersuing for $100 million, citing multiple occasions on which the Pirates of the Caribbean star allegedly physically assaulted her.

Yesterday, the Aquaman star gave an emotional testimony of a fight she and Depp had in 2015, during which she claims he head-butted her and "repeatedly" punched her.

"Punching me, punching me repeatedly with his fist, I don’t even remember feeling the pain, I just remember hearing the sound of Johnny’s voice," she told the court.

"He got next to my face and he was screaming over and over again, each time it sounded louder and more desperate, 'I f***ing hate you, I f***ing hate you, I f***ing hate you' over and over. Then pounding the back of my head, pounding it with his fist, and I don’t even remember feeling pain, I just could hear myself scream until I couldn’t hear myself any more," Heard continued.

She went on to describe how: "I could just hear him say that he was going to kill me," adding: "I don’t know how many times, he just hit me over and over again and I got really still and it felt in my body like quiet. And I thought 'this is how I die, he is going to kill me now' he is going to kill me and he won’t even have realized it."

Heard ended her account of the fight by saying she blacked out and had no memory of anything else until she woke up. The jury were then shown photos of the injuries she had allegedly suffered at her ex-husband's hands.

Elsewhere in her testimony, Heard described a 2015 fight she and Depp had at their Los Angeles apartment, during which she apparently hit him to prevent him from pushing her down the stairs.

"In all of my relationship to date with Johnny, I hadn’t landed a blow," she said, before admitting: "I hit him, square in the face."

Depp vehemently denied ever assaulting his ex-wife during his own testimony, saying: "I've never struck Ms. Heard. I have never struck a woman in my life."
