Following the announcement of Kim Kardashian's upcoming American Horror Story debut, fans are now threatening to boycott the show.
The 42-year-old social media personality made the announcement via Twitter on Monday (April 10), tweeting a short snippet of a creepy lullaby with a text overlay that read her name alongside Emma Roberts' as a way of introducing her upcoming venture into the world of acting.
While some people were pleased with the idea of their favorite celeb joining the star-studded line-up, others were less than impressed, hitting out at the show's creator Ryan Murphy for his casting choices.
"Ugh guess I'm skipping this season," wrote one user while another added: "Well this is the end of AHS."
Over on Twitter, the reaction was also similar.
"Guess I won’t be watching the next season of #AmericanHorrorStory there is no way I’m watching #KimKardashian try to be a real actor."
"@KimKardashian is going to be in #AHS12 I've gone my whole life not watching her and I won't start now," added another frustrated user. "Sorry not sorry but I'm passing on this season. @AHSFX cast better."
"What a bad idea having Kim Kardashian on #AmericanHorrorStory. Idiots everywhere. I hope it flops, because I seriously wouldn’t be watching it, & hope everyone else is smart enough not to keep making that family so famous."
And this user wrote: "Kim Kardashian will star in the next AHS, they have gone down hill and I will definitely not be watching."
This Twitter user tagged both Ryan Murphy and the show stressing: "I need you to understand NOBODY WILL BE WATCHING AHS SEASON 12 IF KIM KARDASHIAN IS ON THERE YOUR RATINGS WILL GO DOWN THE DRAIN @ryanmurphyprod @AHSFX."
"KIM KARDASHIAN W AHS NAH BRO I AINT WATCHING THIS ANYMORE," stated another.
Speaking of Kim's addition to the popular horror series, Murphy stated that the stars are all "thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family."
"Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family," Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter. "Emma [Roberts] and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done."
The 12th instalment of of the show titled Delicate is based on an upcoming novel by Danielle Valentine called Delicate Condition which is "a gripping thriller that follows a woman convinced a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens - while the men in her life refuse to believe a word she says."
