Brendan Fraser has made a rare appearance with his two sons at a screening of his latest film The Whale - and the internet is thirsty.

The 53-year-old has made headlines with his acting comeback in the harrowing psychological drama - which details the story of an obese and reclusive English teacher who attempts to reconnect with his daughter, played by Stranger Things actor Sadie Sink.

When the movie was shown at Venice Film Festival, Fraser became teary and emotional as it received a six-minute standing ovation - and his reaction went viral, with fans commenting on how well-deserved the applause was. Then, a month later the movie received a five-minute standing ovation at the London Film Festival, which caused him to be equally as emotional.

The new flick came after The Mummy actor took a hiatus from acting after he came forward in 2018 with accusations of sexual assault against Philip Berk - the former president and member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the organization that votes for the Golden Globes awards - revealing the allegations to GQ.

He alleged that Berk had groped him in 2003 at a luncheon in Beverly Hills, telling the outlet that the disturbing incident "made [him] retreat," with the actor feeling like "something had been taken away from me".

"His left hand reaches around, grabs my a** cheek, and one of his fingers touches me in the taint. And he starts moving it around," he added. "I felt ill. I felt like a little kid. I felt like there was a ball in my throat. I thought I was going to cry."

As a result of his accusations, Fraser believed he had been blacklisted from Hollywood - telling GQ "the silence was deafening" and that he'd rarely been invited back to the Golden Globes after 2003.

Since the release of The Whale - which has received outstanding responses from movie critics - Fraser has stated that he will not be attending the Golden Globes ceremony if the film is nominated because he's not a "hypocrite."

"It's because I have more history with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association than I have respect for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association," the actor said of the organization that hosts the Golden Globes. "And my mother didn't raise a hypocrite. You can call me a lot of things, but not that."

While he has chosen not to participate in 2023's Golden Globe awards, Fraser has committed himself to promoting The Whale, and was even recently joined by his two sons - Holden and Leland - at a screening of the movie this week. And the internet was thirsty...

"Okay, but… Brendan Fraser's sons," someone excitedly tweeted.

"The kid on the right? That's one of Brendan's sons. Very handsome young man," another wrote.

A third user was evidently shocked that the George of the Jungle actor had sons, adding: "I did NOT KNOW Brendan Fraser had sons??? They're still babies but they're so handsome! Good for them! Forever a Brendan Fraser stan."

"Brendan Fraser looking like a super spy on 'the whale' red carpet with his handsome sons [...] a real father," somebody else added.
