Brendan Fraser was seen evidently emotional after his new movie The Whale received a lengthy standing ovation at London Film Festival more than a month after receiving the same response in Venice.

Early last month, 53-year-old Fraser went viral after he appeared to get teary-eyed when the Darren Aronofsky film was given a six-minute standing ovation at Venice Film Festival.

It was screened again on Tuesday, October 11 at London Film Festival, and those in attendance were once again enthralled by the movie about a 600-pound reclusive man who attempts to reconnect with his estranged teenage daughter.

Footage of Fraser's reaction to the standing ovation has flooded social media once more, and people won't stop raving about the drama. One such video was captioned: "Am I at Venice? 5 min standing ovation for Brendan Fraser’s masterpiece performance in #TheWhale. He had the crowd in the palm of his hand the entire movie. My heart is in my throat. #LFF."

Others in attendance at London Film Festival took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the movie, with one writing: "Easily the performance of the year from Brendan Fraser in #TheWhale, maybe even the decade. Aronofsky's profoundly devastating drama moved me to tears and it'll be a hard one for the rest of #LFF to top."

Another added: "Holy f*** Brendan Fraser! Best performance of the year - it’s a bandwagon but there’s a reason why it’s a bandwagon - The Whale skilfully avoids falling into traps it could have easily fallen into with care even if it’s not a subtle film. Also: Sadie Sink *excellent*. #LFF."

A third said: "THE WHALE slowly yet efficiently builds up to an overwhelmingly emotional ending, insanely elevated by a career-best performance from Brendan Fraser. A sad, inspirational, HONEST story about trauma, self-acceptance and positivity. I didn’t know I could cry sideways. #LFF2022."

A forth commented: "Just seen Darren Aronofsky’s new movie THE WHALE at the London Film Festival tonight. It got an immediate, sustained standing ovation from every single audience member. Incredibly moving film, a clarion call for empathy, with a frankly astonishing performance from Brendan Fraser."

The Whale is slated for release in theaters on December 9.
