Not too long ago, back when Meghan Markle wasn't a royal and Priyanka Chopra wasn't married to a Jonas Brother, the two actresses were well-known for their friendship.

They initially met in 2016 at the Elle Women in Television event, where they very quickly hit it off.

"Priyanka is unbelievable. She has become a really good friend," Meghan was reported saying several months later. "You know when you meet someone and you just click? It was just an easy, natural progression. We've managed to keep in touch via email and text, and try to see each other whenever we're both in the same town."

Chopra, in turn had some kind words to say about Meghan: "She’s an icon, truly, that girls can look up to, that women can look up to. She’s normal, she’s sweet, she’s nice."

From there, their friendship only seemed to blossom further, and the Bollywood actress famously made an appearance at the duchess' wedding last year.

According to recent reports, however, it hit a turning point at the end of last year.

According to a source who spoke to Page Six, the bad blood between them started when Meghan refused to attend Chopra's wedding last December.

"Their friendship is over unless Meghan apologizes," said one source. "Priyanka is a huge international star with a tremendous social media following. She is probably more famous worldwide than Meghan is. She feels Meghan didn’t respect her, and didn’t respect their friendship."

But sources close to the former Suits star says that Meghan was forced to duck out of the wedding on account of her pregnancy, so it really wasn't something she could control.

More recently, other sources have come forward to say that Chopra skipped out on Meghan's baby shower because she's still mad - but the actress has now spoken out to deny that.

In a response to a fan on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Chopra said the rumours about her feuding with Meghan were "not true"... although, for an actress, she wasn't entirely convincing.

Another source who spoke to Page Six backed her up, though, saying: "There are no issues between the two women. They are friends, and anything you’re being told otherwise is inaccurate and untrue."

Really, then, we're no closer to knowing the truth than we were before. If the two are still friends, Chopra isn't doing the best job of convincing us of it - and if they're not, weellllll let's hope they sort it soon.
