This week, the world has been talking about British music sensation Adele.
However, the Grammy Award-winner has not been trending because she's releasing a new single or launched a new album - no, no. People just couldn't get over her appearance in her most recent social media post.
On Wednesday, the 'Hello' singer celebrated her 32nd birthday, and to mark the occasion, she shared her first post on Instagram since December. The Grammy Award winner wrote to her 33.6 million followers:
"Thank you for the birthday love. I hope you’re all staying safe and sane during this crazy time. I’d like to thank all of our first responders and essential workers who are keeping us safe while risking their lives! You are truly our angels. 2020 okay bye thanks x"

In just two days, the beloved singer's post has received nearly 10 million 'likes' and amassed over 210,000 comments - many of which are compliments from some famous names:
Adele's friend Lauren Paul - who is married to Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul - also shared a snap with Adele on her Story, writing alongside it:
"Happy birthday angel babe @adele. You came into my life a few months before I had Story [her son], and you quickly became one of the most important figures in my journey as a new mother.
"You have taught me so much. You glow because your heart is full. I'm so proud of the human you are. Wish we were reliving this Vegas sleepover."
Now, in response to the varying comments made regarding Adele's weight loss, the singer's former personal trainer has taken to Instagram to share the truth about her transformation.
London-based fitness expert Pete Geracimo shared a photograph of himself alongside Adele in a pool and addressed the less-than-flattering responses to Adele's weight loss in the post's caption. He wrote:
"As Adele’s former London-based personal trainer, it’s disheartening to read negative commentary and fat-phobic accusations questioning the genuineness of her amazing weight loss.
"In my personal experience of working with her through many highs and lows, she always marched to the beat of her own drum on her own terms. She never undermined her God-given talent in any way. She let her incredible voice do the talking, or should I say singing! She never once pretended to be something that she wasn’t. What you saw was what you got. And we all LOVED it!"

Geracimo added that the singer's weight-loss journey was never about being "super skinny", but was instead about getting her "healthy". He continued:
"When Adele and I started our journey together, it was never about getting super skinny. It was about getting her healthy. Especially post pregnancy and post surgery. When 25 dropped and the tour announced, we had to get ready for a 13 month gruelling schedule. In that time, she warmed to training and made better food choices. As a result, she lost considerable weight and people took notice. Her body transformation was splashed across every media outlet. The attention it generated was mind-blowing."

The personal trainer then referenced how Adele's journey started when she "underwent some tough personal changes", having separated from husband Simon Konecki in April last year, and officially filing for divorce in September. Geracimo continued"
"Since she moved to LA, it’s been well documented that she underwent some tough personal changes. It’s only natural that with change comes a new sense of self and wanting to be your best possible version. She embraced better eating habits and committed to her fitness and 'is sweating'! I could not be prouder or happier for her! This metamorphosis is not for album sales, publicity or to be a role model. She is doing it for herself and for Angelo."

Geracimo concluded that he hopes people "appreciate the hard work" the 'Skyfall' singer has put in, and stressed that Adele did not lose the weight to make people "feel bad about themselves". He wrote:
"My hope is that people appreciate the hard work that Adele has done to improve herself for the benefit to her and her family only. She did not lose the weight to make others feel bad about themselves. This personal transformation has nothing to do with me or you. It’s about Adele and how she wants to live her life. She has not changed from the Adele we grew up with and have loved. There is just a little less of her to go around."
