An adult movie star has been taken to court by French fashion house Christian Dior Couture.

Last year, Gigi Dior provoked the ire of the iconic designer label when she trademarked her stage name.

The adult star uses the name 'Gigi Dior' across all her monetized platforms, including her personal website, her OnlyFans account, her webcam work, and all social media accounts, according to Page Six.

While the 40-year-old entertainer may have amassed a cult following online, it appears not everyone is a fan of her work.

Paris-based Christian Dior Couture - part of the luxury goods giant LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton -  is clearly so irked at her using the same surname as them that they have filed a legal claim asking to overturn her trademark.

The luxury label - which is named after founding designer Christian Ernest Dior - has claimed that Gigi's brand is damaging its business.

In the filing, representatives for the brand explain: "All goods and services … are opposed, namely: Entertainment services … personal appearances by a p*rn star … providing a website featuring non-downloadable adult-themed photographs and videos."

Per news.com.au, the brand says it is justified in making the legal request on the basis of "priority and likelihood of confusion, dilution by blurring and dilution by tarnishment."

Gigi has just a few weeks to present a written response to Dior's appeal. If she has not responded by November 17, her trademark will be overturned.

The mom-of-four told Page Six that the lawsuit was "ridiculous", saying: "My name has nothing to do with couture and — the funny part is — what I do usually involves wearing no clothes at all."

She went on to explain the devastating consequences the loss of her trademark could have on her and her children, all of whom are under 12.

"If I lose my name, I have built a brand around this name, it has become me and my reputation, so it's really devastating to think I might have to start from scratch and rebrand everything," she told the outlet.

"I have thousands and thousands of T-shirts, signs and photographs. I have retained websites, all of my social media. I'd have to start again, it's going to be a huge undertaking if I lose this name," the adult movie star continued.

"I’m devastated, and it is ridiculous," she added.
