Former Nickelodeon star Amanda Bynes, best known for her roles in beloved childhood favorites like The Amanda Show and She's The Man, has recently shared her experience with a cosmetic procedure.
Bynes, whose most recent credit dates back to 2010 when she appeared in Easy A alongside Emma Stone, has continued to engage with her fans through social media.
In recent times, as Bynes has provided updates on her life via social media, some fans began to notice changes in her appearance compared to her years in the spotlight. Addressing these comments and concerns, Bynes took to Instagram on December 11th to provide clarity on her transformation.
In her Instagram Story post, Bynes openly shared that she had undergone a blepharoplasty, a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to remove excess skin or fat from the eyelids.
She revealed, "I was never open about this before, but I actually had blepharoplasty surgery on the skinfolds and the corner of my eyes. So, I don't have those skinfolds anymore."
Bynes went on to say that the procedure had a profoundly positive impact on her self-confidence.
Check out what Bynes had to say about her surgical procedure:"It made me feel a lot better in my skin, so I just wanted to post about that just to clear up that rumor as to why I have a new look," Bynes continued. "I feel a lot better now about myself, and I'm so glad I had the blepharoplasty surgery. It was one of the greatest things I could've ever done."
Bynes' revelation regarding her blepharoplasty surgery follows her release in March from a nearly nine-year-long conservatorship, previously granted to her mother, Lynn. Upon the judge's ruling to end the conservatorship, Bynes expressed her determination to prioritize her well-being and work towards an independent life.
She shared with People magazine, "In the last several years, I have been working hard to improve my health so that I can live and work independently, and I will continue to prioritize my well-being in this next chapter."
While Bynes chose to address the topic openly and honestly, her decision was met with a range of responses from fans. Many fans criticized the comments and pressures that led her to feel the need to speak out about her appearance.
One fan expressed frustration, stating, "I hate how Amanda Bynes saw ya'll commentary on her looks and felt the need to address it. Leave her alone."
Another fan emphasized empathy, saying, "So now Amanda Bynes is having to explain why she looks so different like WHO CARES? leave this woman alone we all know the things she's been through and a major source of that is because of the public. We should be glad she's finally safe and healthy."
In addition to her personal journey, Bynes recently launched a new podcast titled Amanda Bynes & Paul Sieminski: The Podcast on December 8th, showcasing her ongoing creative endeavors.
