Amber Heard has confessed that she still loves Johnny Depp despite his defamation lawsuit against her - and the abuse she claims he subjected her to.
In her first sit-down interview since the Pirates of the Caribbean star won their multi-million dollar case earlier this month, Heard told Today show's Savannah Guthrie that she fears her ex-husband, Depp, will sue her again - but in spite of this, she still feels strongly for him.
“On the first day of the trial, you issued a statement. And part of the statement said, ‘I still have love for Johnny. Is that still true?” Guthrie asked.
"Absolutely I love him. I loved him with all my heart," Heard said. "And I tried the best I could to make a deeply broken relationship work and I couldn't. I have no bad feelings or ill will towards him at all," she added. "I know that might be hard to understand or it might be really easy to understand if you've just ever loved anyone. It should be easy."
Check out what she had to say below:The Aquaman star also spoke about her fears that Depp - with whom she was in a relationship for four years before their acrimonious split in 2016 - would sue her again.
She said: "I’m scared that no matter what I do, no matter what I say or how I say it, every step that I take will present another opportunity for this sort of silencing, which is what I guess a defamation lawsuit is meant to do. It’s meant to take your voice."
Guthrie then asked Heard if she felt Depp's warning over text of a "global humiliation" had become a reality.
She said: “I know he promised it... and I testified to this... I’m not a good victim, I get it, I’m not a likable victim, I’m not a perfect victim, but when I testified I asked the jury to just see me as human and to see his own words, which is a promise to do this. It feels as though he has.”
On to the impact of the #MeToo movement, Guthrie said: "Legions of powerful men being cancelled, losing their jobs. Did you want that to happen to Johnny Depp?"
"Of course not," Heard told her. "It wasn't about him."
