Yes, the year is 2020 and celebrities are still being snapped by the paparazzi as they go about their day-to-day lives.

And today it is singer Billie Eilish who has somehow made headlines after she was photographed walking around Los Angeles on Sunday wearing a tank top, shorts, socks, and sliders.

Yes, despite being a non-story, publications such as the Daily Mail and New York Post have posted articles shining a spotlight on the fact that Eilish was spotted "WITHOUT her trademark baggy clothes" and showing "some skin".

In response, fans of the 18-year-old have taken to Twitter to defend the 'No Time To Die' singer.

The short clip shows the singer stripping down to her bra while standing in a rising black liquid.

As the footage plays, the Grammy-award-winner narrates: "Do you know me? Do you really know me? You have opinions about my music, about my clothes, about my body.

"Some people hate what I wear, some people praise it, some people use it to shame others, some people use it to shame me, but I feel you watching always."

Eilish continues: "Nothing I do goes unseen, so while I feel your stares, your disapproval, or your sigh of relief, I lived by them, I’d never be able to move.

"Would you like me to be smaller, weaker, softer, taller? Would you like me to be quiet? Do my shoulders provoke you? Does my chest? Am I my stomach, my hips, the body I was born with – is it not what you wanted?

"If I wear what is comfortable, I am not a woman. If I shed layers, I’m a slut. Though you’ve never seen my body, you still judge it and judge me for it. Why?

"You make assumptions about people based on their size. We decide who they are, we decide what they’re worth. If I wear more, if I wear less, who decides what that makes me, what that means? Is my value based only on your perception, or is your opinion of me not my responsibility?"

Speaking to GQ about the powerful video, Elish explained: "I definitely didn't want it to come off as, 'Oh, now I am 18 now I like my body.' I still have huge issues with my own body."

It is a shame that an 18-year-old can't run a few errands with friends without being papped and her outfit making headlines. But fortunately, Eilish has her incredibly supportive fans to rally behind her.
