A body language specialist has dissected the intricacies of the hug shared by Kris Jenner and her daughter's ex-boyfriend, Bad Bunny, at The Met Gala.
It's never easy when it comes to running into people from past relationships, but doing it in front of hundreds of cameras and with the world watching is a completely different ball game.
Bad Bunny did exactly this, as he ran into his ex-girlfriend's mom, Kris Jenner.
The Puerto Rican artist dated Kendall Jenner intermittently between 2023 and 2024, but they have seemingly stayed on good terms despite the split.
Met Gala organizers usually try to avoid any ex-couples from crossing paths at the event, as they are usually seated apart when it comes to the table arrangements.
But when it comes to seeing someone in and around the venue, there isn't much that can be done.
Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, known also as Bad Bunny, dated influencer and model Kendall Jenner, even making an appearance as a couple at the 2023 Met Gala after-party.
While the relationship wasn't too long, you'd probably want to avoid the scenario of running into your ex's family members.
Bad Bunny, 32, and Kendall, 30, have seen each other at previous Met Gala events, even sharing a wholesome moment at the 2024 after-party, if a report from E! News is to be believed.
Cosmopolitan further reported that they "hung out a bit" in 2025, but unfortunately for anyone who was rooting for their relationship, that was about it.
It's about the cleanest you can expect from a celebrity break-up, but Bad Bunny unfortunately shared an awkward exchange with Kris Jenner at this year's Met Gala.
The Grammy-award-winning artist was dressed as an older version of himself on Monday night (May 4), when he saw Kris and put his arm across her body, in a half-committed hug.
Kris, 70, gave his arm an embrace, patting it, before the rapper had an interaction with one of Kris' other daughters, Kim Kardashian.
Speaking to UNILAD on behalf of Casino.org, celebrity body language expert Inbaal Honigman said that there was a "subtle move" missed by many.
She explained: "When Bad Bunny approaches Kris Jenner, he expects family warmth but receives a cold, friendly response.
"His arm embraces her, which we can all see, but there's a subtle move which we almost miss."
"While he extends his awkward hug, he doesn't just reach out his arm, but in addition he leans his head towards her, leaning right into her personal space like a cuddle - but she doesn't lean her head back," she highlighted.
Inbaal added: "It would appear that Benito expects a full warm family cuddle, for their heads to meet in the middle, but Kris is not prepared to share this level of warmth. She's not returning his hug.
"Kris looks towards Bad Bunny, following him with her eyes, but doesn't squeeze her body towards him for a hug, not at all."
The expert then said that Kim then "gesticulates towards the musician animatedly," which means she is friendly but doesn't get too close.
Inbaal further explained: "The ladies are happy to acknowledge Benito and interact with him, but he won't get any warmth from them, as their loyalty is for Kendall."
