In a continuing family feud, Brooklyn Beckham has taken another significant step that appears to distance him from his father, David Beckham.
Recently, Brooklyn, 26, altered a tattoo that was originally a tribute to his father, further amplifying the tension between them, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Brooklyn Beckham's Tattoo Makeover: A Symbol of the Rift?
Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son of global soccer icon Sir David Beckham and fashion mogul Victoria Beckham, has made headlines again after modifying his tattoo dedicated to his father.
The tattoo, which once featured a large anchor on his upper right arm, included the word "dad" running through it, along with an affectionate message, "Love you Bust" – a nickname David used for his son.
However, in newly surfaced photos obtained by The Sun, it appears that Brooklyn has covered up the tattoo with abstract shapes and a star.
The inscription, "Love you Bust," has been significantly faded, further diminishing its prominence. This decision marks another blow in what seems to be a deepening rift within the Beckham family.
The Tension Between Brooklyn and His Famous Parents
Brooklyn's strained relationship with his parents became public last month when he issued a scathing statement, revealing that he no longer wished to reconcile with them.
The statement was a candid declaration of his feelings, as he accused his family of controlling narratives and manipulating the media.
In the statement, Brooklyn described how, for much of his life, he had been subjected to the pressures of living up to a public persona.
He expressed relief in finding peace since marrying his wife, Nicola Peltz, and described his life with her as being free from the anxiety he once battled.
Brooklyn even claimed that his parents, David and Victoria, had tried to undermine his marriage to Nicola, mentioning that his mother had canceled plans to design Nicola's wedding dress at the last minute.
"I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed," Brooklyn wrote.
A Family Divided: What’s Behind the Rift?
Brooklyn’s statement painted a picture of a controlling and performative family environment. He accused his parents of using the media to manipulate public perception and of trying to undermine his personal and professional life.
According to Brooklyn, his parents pressured him to sign away the rights to his name just before his wedding, an effort that would have had lasting consequences for his future.
"My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn't stopped," Brooklyn wrote.
"My mum cancelled making Nicola's dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress."
In his statement, Brooklyn also mentioned the strain caused by his parents' constant attempts to control his life through public events and social media posts.
He described his entire upbringing as being shaped by a family culture focused on image and media portrayal rather than authentic relationships.
