Cardi B "shut down" the Met Gala as she required nine helpers to move her voluminous gown across the red carpet.

Fashion’s biggest night out - the 2024 Met Gala - took place on Monday (May 6) in New York City.

Organized and presided over by Anna Wintour since 1995, the event has become the annual celebration of fashion.

The theme for this year was Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, and the dress code was “The Garden in Time," inspired by a short story of the same name by JG Ballard - who is perhaps known for his book Empire of the Sun, according to Vogue.

The 31-year-old 'I Like It' hitmaker made her grand entrance in a stunning strapless black gown, custom-made by Chinese designer Windowsen.

She accessorized her showstopping look with a dramatic black headpiece, emerald jewelry, and snazzy green nails. Her makeup was also done with a dramatic green eye look by makeup artist Erika La' Pearl, per Allure.

The rapper needed the help of nine men as she climbed the steps of the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art in her daring dress. "This is the way you shut down the Met Gala carpet," Vogue livestream host La La Anthony remarked after seeing Cardi's massive tulle train.

Many fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to praise the 'WAP' rapper's dramatic look as one user wrote: "Wait, cardi looks so fab tonight.. 10s!"

Another said: "Now that's what you call sleeping beauty awakenings. Kudos for killin it miss @iamcardib."

A third commented: "This eats, it’s very extravagant," while a fourth added: "She is THE MOMENT."

The star recently told the Hollywood Reporter that she and stylist Kollin Carter's strategy for the event was to “be iconic.”

“We always try to make sure that everything goes right, that everything be iconic,” she explained. “We want everything to be iconic. I know people sometimes be like, ‘Oh, it’s not about who is there and who is not,’ but it’s like, no, you need to remember us forever.”

The 'UP' rapper said in March that she and her stylist start planning months in advance of the Met, adding: “I feel like the Met Gala is almost like going to the Grammys. It’s very nerve-racking, and even though we make it look so easy, we really be so nervous.”

It's safe to say Cardi delivered an "iconic" look at the 2024 Met Gala!
