Nicki Minaj is no stranger to feuds, or publicly slamming her rivals or perceived enemies in the music industry. This year, it stepped up a notch, with the rapper taking on pretty much everyone, including a literal baby (no, I'm not kidding).
The argument she got into with her ex-boyfriend Safaree over Twitter needs to be seen to be believed, and then there was the intense rivalry over competing album sales with none of than Travis Scott - which eventually roped in both his girlfriend Kylie Jenner, and their eight-month-old child, Stormi.
That was just the beginning, however, as her long-gestating feud with Cardi B has hit a peak, sending the usually amicable Cardi into a rage. It's unknown how the ongoing animosity began over the last year, but it was definitely knocked up a notch when the pair got into a brawl at on the red carpet at New York Fashion Week in September.
In the following weeks, both have expressed their anger with one another on social media, and Minaj has frequently spoken about the feud on her show Queen. Yesterday, Minaj used this outlet to reveal more details about her fight with Cardi, although it's up for debate how truthful she is being about the affair.
According to Nicki, her friend Rah Ali hit Cardi B so many times that even Nicki started to feel bad for her. However, she didn't miss the opportunity to insinuate that Cardi wasn't a real rapper at all. Soon after, Cardi officially responded, in a series of videos posted to Instagram.
First, she said that Rah did not "rag" her, and called for Nicki to show footage, which she claims to have. "Why would I be here sitting and lying," Cardi said in one video, "knowing that the next day there would be so much footages of that same night?"
In addition to this, she asked why Nicki claimed to be both embarrassed by the fight, but is also acting like a 'victim'. "Do you wanna be the victim or do you wanna be the gangsta?" she asked.
Cardi called out Nicki for her inconsistent version of events, especially how she had promised to pay $100,000 to anyone that had a better video of the fight, yet said that she already had her own copy.
"Make sense when you talking, I know what there's footage of, you standing on the wall talking about 'I'm standing right here,'" she said. "Miss Chun-Li, the Street Fighter. Get the f*ck out of here."
Not stopping there, Cardi also showed a stream of text messages that came after Nicki allegedly leaked Cardi's number to the public - something Cardi's sister has previously spoken about:
Cardi then showed her followers some of the horrendous abusive texts she received because of this leak, behaviour that she believes Nicki endorsed:
She went on to explain how Nicki was reportedly upset over Cardi's various successes, referred to herself as a "street b***h", while Nicki was acting like a "hater". Just the way she says the word 'facts' here is gonna stick in my head for a long time:
But the biggest news comes when she even threatened to sue Nicki for what she has been saying about her over the last month or so, although she sees no point in suing over the fight itself.
"Since you wanna talk about suing, maybe I should sue you for defamation of character," she said.
And who said Cardi had no receipts?
While Nicki is showing no signs of backing down over this feud, Cardi seems to be willing to talk it out maturely - but if things continue this way, she isn't going to take any insults either.
