Lucy Spraggan may have gone into Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins ready to push her limits — but she probably never imagined she’d leave the show with what’s being called one of the most excruciating injuries in its history.
The X Factor alum, 34, is competing in the current Channel 4 season alongside names like Louie Spence, Rebecca Loos, Adam Collard, Michaella McCollum, and Harry Clark.
Other contestants, including S Club 7’s Hannah Spearitt and Love Island stars Tasha Ghouri and Chloe Burrows, bowed out early.
Spraggan, however, stayed the course — and paid for it in blood, bruises, and reconstructive surgery.
The worst of her injuries happened during a harness stunt.
“I ripped my labia - it was bad. That's not a common injury. Actually, genuinely, that's never been the same, so much so I'm having some surgery soon to correct it,” she told The Sun.
“I don't really know even what happened, I guess the harness was tight. I was like: ‘This feels really bad. Surely there can't be anything.’ And I looked and there was a tear, there was lots of blood and the doctor came over and I turned around because at that point you literally don't care about anything. Dignity has gone. It was like: ‘Oh my God, I thought it was your leg.’ And I was like: ‘No, no, it's not!’”
Spraggan says the pain was instant and the bleeding severe, with medics rushing in — but there was no mistaking the damage.
Unfortunately, the harness disaster was just one entry on a long list of SAS battle scars.
At one point, she nearly knocked out a tooth and fainted. In another stunt, she tried to jump from a helicopter onto a boat — but instead face-planted the sea so hard she was left with a black eye that was still visible on her wedding day.
The impact also caused a bizarre lasting injury to her face.
“I had the filler under my eyes and when my face hit the sea so hard my filler migrated to the side of my face,” she explained. “By that point I was just in pain everywhere...and the filler didn’t migrate back, when I got home I had to have it dissolved.”
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins has never been a gentle ride — former contestants have left with broken ribs, ruptured muscles, trench foot, and even near-death experiences. But Spraggan’s accident might top the list for sheer discomfort.
