Yesterday was Chrissy Teigen and John Legend's fifth wedding anniversary, and yes, they're as #CoupleGoals as ever. But while we would have expected the pair to have had a quintessential romantic dinner to mark the occasion, this is Chrissy Teigen that we're talking about, and there's never a day off from trolling.
So when it came to documenting the day, Chrissy did so with with the razor-sharp wit that's won her 20 million Instagram followers and counting.
"12 years ago today, I met the man of my dreams. And 5 years ago today, we got married," the model and co-host of Lip Sync Battle wrote in the caption of a photo of her and John on their wedding day. "We have two babies and some pups and a life I am grateful to have. My everything, I love you and am so proud of the story we’ve created. But you are an a--hole for releasing your @nbcthevoice news on my target launch day for real."
Chrissy is, of course, referring to the news that her cookware line is launching in Target. The announcement came out at the same time as it was revealed that her husband, John Legend, would be joining The Voice as a coach. And this comes just days after news broke that John has become an EGOT - that is, someone who has won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award.
There's no doubt that John was laughing over the post as he celebrated a week full of milestones.
The photo offers a rare glimpse into Chrissy and John's 2013 wedding. The couple married overlooking Lake Como in Italy, in an intimate celebration with their close friends and family, including Kanye West and Brooklyn Decker. Stevie Wonder performed at the wedding - singing Ribbon in the Sky - alongside the groom who purportedly sang his own song, All of Me.
Chrissy recently dished out some marriage advice, revealing how she's managed to keep the spark alive for five years. "think it’s really important to be complete partners in crime. I love the mentality of ‘us against the world'," she told Well + GOOD. "Even when you have kids, never forget your relationship as partners and lovers—that’s so important."
Chrissy and John welcomed their second child, Miles, back in May. The pair had been anxious to grow their family for some time. Last year, they chose to undergo a frozen embryo transfer in hopes of becoming pregnant again. And back in January of 2017, before she even got pregnant with Miles, Teigen tweeted about the sex of the embryo that they would be using for their second child.
"Since this is coming up again, I said our next baby would be a boy because that is the embryo we have left. A boy. So. Yeah," the cookbook author wrote on Twitter.
The newborn joins the pair's two-year-old daughter, Luna Simone Stephens.
