Lately, everyone has been talking about Meghan Markle's pregnancy, and to be honest, it's hardly surprising. People love babies, people love royals, and so a royal baby is very much a convergence of interests. Kensington Palace released a statement on their official Instagram account attached to a photo of Harry and Meghan.
The caption read: "Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019. Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public."
But some folk have been rightly concerned that Meghan's pregnancy has overshadowed other women's as well. However, now we have another celebrity pregnancy to reckon with, and it's one that might even rival Meghan's in terms of social media buzz. Yes, American comedian Amy Schumer has just announced that she's pregnant! Not only that, but she seems to be aware that Harry and Meghan have got people's attention, and so she's humorously compared herself to the famous couple.
The actor and comedian posted a photo of Harry and Meghan to her personal Instagram account, which she'd edited by superimposing the heads of her husband Chris Fischer and herself, which she'd edited onto the bodies of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. She then linked her fans to the profile of journalist Jessica Yellin, who had posted Amy's midterm election recommendations, which ended with the words: "I'm pregnant - Amy Schumer." Man, that's a convoluted way of making an announcement!
Schumer married chef and farmer Fischer back in February 2018, in a ceremony in Malibu in California. We'd like to wish Amy our congratulations. I'm sure she won't be a trainwreck when it comes to raising a family.
