Dua Lipa has responded to the recent rumors on the subject of her alleged pregnancy after an enigmatic social media post lit a fire under her fanbase.
According to E! News, the speculation on the topic was first ignited last week when the 25-year-old singer took to her official Instagram and Twitter accounts to share two side-by-side pictures of herself with her 59.3 million followers.
However, Lipa's fans were intrigued by the emojis she dropped in the post's caption.
As you can see in the image above, Lipa's caption was sprinkled with suggestive pictograms, including babies, hearts, teddy bears, stars, and bottles, all things that her fans couldn't help but associate with kids.
Although the 'Don't Start Now' star promptly deleted the caption on Instagram, she neglected to delete it from Twitter, which led many to wonder if she was expecting a little bundle of joy in the near future.
However, in a virtual interview with Jimmy Kimmel on his eponymous talk show, Lipa set the record straight on the whole affair, explaining that her alleged pregnancy was just a miscommunication on her part.
Per The Metro, Lipa told Kimmel:
"I like finding little random emojis. I put, like, a little baby bottle, a little angel, some sparkles. Random.
I really didn't think this through. I posted it, and then I look at the comments, and then somebody says: 'Is she pregnant?'"
"I look at the picture, I look at the comment, I look at the picture, I look at the comment [and] I'm like: 'Surely, I don't look pregnant.'"
Lipa continued:
"Then, I see that people have been writing stories saying that I posted some cryptic message that I might be announcing my pregnancy. And I'm like: 'Oh my god. These emojis have come to bite me in the *ss. Or the stomach.'"
"So I just deleted the caption, but I wasn’t smart enough and I didn’t take it off my Twitter. I’m not pregnant, just to clear it up. Not pregnant."
So there you have it: Dua Lipa definitely isn't pregnant!
