From her days in the ska band No Doubt to her chart-topping run of the 2000s to her time as a judge on The Voice, there is no doubt Gwen Stefani has had a storied career in music.

However, if you were to look the 'Just A Girl' singer without having any idea of who she was and somebody then told you her career started in 1986, you'd probably think that s**t was B-A-N-A-N-A-S.

Yes, despite a 34-year career and three children, Gwen Stefani still managed to look 30 years old when she's actually 50!

But how does she do it? Well, here are some of her secrets to Stefani's flawless facade.

Always take your makeup off at night:

Rule number one and I already know my wife isn't going to be looking 30 when she's 50.

Stefani is an avid makeup lover and is known for her striking red lips and bold lashes. In fact, she often does her own makeup when it comes to live performances.

In 2017, she spoke with Cosmopolitan, revealing: "I don't know what it is, but something about that whole kind of war paint. Once I get the makeup on, it's showtime, I've said that for years and its so true."

But Stefani has also stressed the importance of removing makeup when the curtains close. Speaking to Elle UK, Stefani said: "The one thing that I have really changed is trying to get all the makeup off. It was hard when I was younger because I was always on a tour bus, literally washing my face with bottled water, inside a bus. But the key is to keep it clean at night. Let your face breathe."

She's a vegetarian

When we're young, we're stressed the importance of "you are what you eat" - and this carries true into adulthood. What you eat has a huge impact on your skin and complexion, and Gwen has revealed that she follows a vegetarian diet.

During an interview with the radio station Mix 104.1, the 'Sweet Escape' singer revealed that she has been a vegetarian since the age of 12. She also revealed that current long-time boyfriend Blake Shelton doesn't follow the same diet.

And while speaking to celebrity chef Giada De Laurentis on Facebook Live back in 2017, Stefani admitted that "everything's fried" in Oklahoma (where she currently lives with her family).

Speaking about the biggest shock to her diet, she added: "It shocks me because growing up in California...we learn how to be healthy. And in Oklahoma, they learn just how to have fun and eat like not worry about it, which is great."

Keep out of the sun

Growing up in California may have taught Stefani to eat healthily, but it also meant she grew up enjoying the sunshine.

When speaking to Elle UK, the 'Sweet Escape' singer was asked about the best skincare tip she had ever received, to which she replied: "Stay out of the sun! It's funny though, because you definitely see it as you get older. Later in life, you're like 'What is that?!', and it turns out it's from the sun and you're like, 'Oh why did I do that to myself?'

"That said, growing up in California, I was pretty good. Not when I was a kid, but once I hit my twenties."

Get plenty of rest (or fake it)

Gwen also told Elle UK that the best way to avoid tired-looking skin is "probably sleep". However,  any mom-of-three out there will tell you that sleep doesn't come easy when there are kids around.

In order to combat this, Stefani recommends a good waterproof foundation. She chooses Revlon's ColorStay Foundation, saying: "It works so well, I don't need to reapply elsewhere."

Reapply makeup on long days

Despite being an outspoken makeup lover, Stefani also told Elle UK that she loved the feeling of a fresh and clean face.

She revealed that when she was a judge on The Voice"sometimes, if I have a really long day (like a 14-hour day filming day) I'll just wash it all off and start over again for that fresh-face feeling. I only do my skin though."

Stefani did admit that "you do pretty much look the same" and people wouldn't be able to notice, but she says it just feels better to remove and reapply.

So there you have it - all the tips you need to make sure you look 30 when you're 50!
