Gwen Stefani has revealed the secret to why she hasn't seemed to age since the mid-90s.
After becoming a household name as part of the ska group No Doubt, Stefani has remained a constant in the world of music.
However, as well as her prominence in the industry, another thing that has always remained constant is the fact that Stefani has looked like she's in her mid-20s since 1995.
But, in reality, 'The Sweet Escape' singer is 53 years old! Yes, this is what 53 looks like when you're Gwen Stefani:
It really isn't fair, especially considering that I'm 31 and already look like Voldemort after a heavy night out.
And to put the above photo into context, here's what Stefani looked like back in her No Doubt days in 1995:
But shortly after her 53th birthday, Stefani took part in a Carpool Karaoke segment on a recent episode of James Corden’s The Late Late Show.
During her appearance, the 'Don't Speak' singer shared what she believed is down to her youthful appearance after Corden told her: "I feel like you are like Benjamin Button. You are just not aging, I feel like you're getting younger. You're just ageless. My wife was going, 'I just want to know what she does. What's her regime?'"
Check out Stefani explain her "secret" below:
Stefani responded to Corden's question by explaining that when her life "blew up" when she "kind of started falling in love," and then wrote a "whole record about that".
"That’s like what the facelift is, I think," she added, to which Corden responded: "It’s taken 10 years off you."
"I’m writing music about happiness and truth," the star said, while the Gavin and Stacey actor quipped that he'll tell his wife that if she wants to look younger, she has to meet a hunky country music singer - aka Stefani's husband, Blake Shelton.
Last year, The Voice judge explored the topic of aging and social media's fascination with her looks in an interview with the UK's Daily Telegraph.
The singer said that she is aware of the attention she receives, but doesn't personally get offended by any critical comments made about her looks. However, she also understands that getting older isn’t so easy for everyone - especially women.
"It’s really hard for everyone to age and have to face life. Especially for females and people who have been in the spotlight," she told the publication. "It can be daunting, but you tackle it by just trying to be the most beautiful version of yourself inside and out."
And that’s what she's done in the 20 years in the industry, which is why she’s content with the commotion caused by her ageless appearance.
"People talking about my aging is a compliment, I guess," she said. "I’m kind of obsessed with how I’m aging, too."
In terms of a specific anti-aging routine that the 'Luxurious' singer might follow to look her best, she reiterated the same comments made in her appearance on Cordon's show and said that she credits her youthfulness to being in love.
Rather than a serum or diet plan, she thanked Shelton for keeping her young, explaining to the publication that Shelton is "the greatest guy".
"I look back over the past few years and look at pictures of when I first started kissing Blake, and I look the best I’ve ever looked in my life in those photos. Love must look good on me. I feel like that does show through - it really does," Stefani added.
But if falling in love ain't your thing, Stefani was also asked by Elle UK about the best skincare tip she had ever received, to which the singer replied: "Stay out of the sun! It's funny though, because you definitely see it as you get older.
"Later in life, you're like 'What is that?!', and it turns out it's from the sun and you're like, 'Oh why did I do that to myself?'
"That said, growing up in California, I was pretty good. Not when I was a kid, but once I hit my twenties."
So there you have it - if you want to look as youthful as Stefani, simply fall in love.
