Margaret Qualley was asked a question about Taylor Swift during a completely unrelated interview, and things got seriously awkward.

The actress, 31, stopped by the Today show on Wednesday, August 13, to promote her new film Honey Don’t.

While most of the interview was questions you'd expect to find in a promotional interview, the interviewer threw a curveball at the end that seemed to catch Qualley off guard.

Noting that Qualley's husband, Jack Antonoff, “has produced for Taylor [Swift] for years,” Melvin teased that Swift has a highly anticipated album on the way, asking Qualley: “Perhaps you’ve heard she’s got an album that’s coming out. Can you tell us about it?”

Qualley, who is also friends with Swift, didn’t bite. “I don’t know anything,” she replied, before adding, “I’ll be excited to listen to the music.”

Melvin followed up with: “Okay. Alright,” to which she simply echoed: “Okay.”

Talk about ending the interview on a whimper...

For the record, while Antonoff and Swift have collaborated on numerous albums together, Swift’s upcoming release The Life of a Showgirl is reportedly produced by Max Martin and Shellback — making this one of the rare times Antonoff’s name isn’t in the liner notes.

While Qualley didn't really want to talk about Swift, I'm going to go ahead and do it anyway because her new album has caused something of a commotion.

The 35-year-old singer joined Travis Kelce and his brother, retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, on Wednesday’s episode of their New Heights podcast.

During the podcast episode, Swift and her boyfriend delved into their love life, much to the delight of fans.

At the time they first met, Kelce had famously attended her Eras Tour stop in Kansas City — and shortly after, they went on that now-legendary first date.

“I knew he wasn’t crazy the first couple of times we talked… He’s like a human exclamation point,” Swift laughed. “I use so many more exclamation points now. And you weren’t judgmental that I knew nothing about the world you’re in.”

Her lack of football knowledge quickly became obvious when she turned to Kelce and asked what it felt like during the Super Bowl when the Chiefs faced the Eagles — specifically, what it was like to look across the line of scrimmage and see his brother Jason standing just a few feet away.

One small problem, as Travis pointed out, that could never happen.

Both Kelce brothers play offense, so they’d never actually line up against each other.

“He didn’t even look at me,” Swift admitted with a laugh. “I now know what an insane question that was… I thought everyone was out there at the same time. I didn’t know what a first down was… or what a tight end was. But I fell in love with it, I became obsessed with it.”

The couple eventually went public in October 2023, stepping out hand-in-hand in New York City.

But as Swift revealed to Time magazine later that year, they had already been dating for a while before her highly publicized appearance at the Chiefs’ September 24 game against the Chicago Bears — a game they deliberately entered through the general admission entrance together.

“I love this new world that Travis has shown me,” Swift told listeners. “It’s so fun, it’s so exciting. There’s so much pressure on these players… The pressure in sports is such a different type, and I have such respect for everyone, everyone on his team.”
