Yolanda Hadid has defended her daughters against Instagram trolls accusing them of having botox and fillers. Yolanda, who is the mother of supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid, took to Instagram to share a body-positive picture, announcing that she is officially filler and implant free. She captioned her celebratory post:
"Fifty Five and smiling from the inside out.... Finally back to the original 1964. Living in a body free of breast implants, fillers, botox, exstensions and all the bullsh*t I thought I needed in order to keep up with what society conditioned me to believe what a sexy woman should look like until the toxicity of it all almost killed me [sic]."
She continued:
"Your health is your wealth so please make educated decisions, research the partial information you’re given by our broken system before putting anything foreign in your body. It took me many years of undoing some bad choices I made for myself before I finally found the freedom to sustainable internal beauty and acceptance of what is the best version of myself by nobody’s standards but my own [sic].
It’s on us to learn to love our selves and celebrate our unique, one of a kind beauty at all ages as we move through this journey called 'life'. Beauty has no meaning without your health [sic]."
Whilst many users applauded the 55 year old for her body confidence, others condemned the post as being dangerous, accusing Yolanda of being hypocritical. A number of comments claim that Yolanda's daughters, more specifically Bella, have undergone cosmetic procedures to enhance their looks.
One irate user responded: "I agree with you but what about your daughters? Especially Bella? She is beautiful but must use fillers?! And she is in the business so how do you rationalise that?"
Both Bella and Gigi Hadid have been forced to deny surgery rumours since making it big in the modelling industry, however, Yolanda decided to defend her daughters once again, replying: "None of my children have never done fillers of Botox or put anything foreign in their bodies, they know better after seeing what I went through [sic]."
Yolanda's response triggered a lot of negative reactions, with one user raging:
"I can understand a mother wanting to defend her children at all costs but to suggest Bella hasn't had extensive work on her face is not just offensive but dangerous! She very clearly does not naturally look how she does now, we can all easily access the before pictures. No amount of mental gymnastics can explain the shape of her nose and eyes changing 'naturally'. The lying is really dangerous for young girls who aspire to look like her when she doesn't even look like her!
"You're not fooling anyone with that nonsense but you are adding to lots and lots of young girls and women feeling insecure because they will never look like your daughter without surgery and lots of botox and fillers. It's incredibly sad that a grown woman like yourself can't see how damaging that is?? Having all that work done is one thing but just be honest about it."
Despite the general public being so sure that the Hadid sisters have undergone cosmetic surgery, they have always dismissed the claims. Talking to InStyle magazine, Bella said: "People think I got all this surgery or did this or that, and you know what? We can do a scan of my face, darling. I’m scared of putting fillers into my lips. I wouldn’t want to mess up my face."
The one thing we know for sure is that Yolanda is looking very good for 55!
