Gypsy Rose Blanchard has opened up about her relationship with Ryan Scott Anderson, as well as delving into their sex life.

Following a harrowing childhood that saw her face years of abuse at the hands of her mother, Clauddine "Dee Dee" Blanchard, Gypsy Rose is now enjoying all aspects of freedom.

After being sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2016 for her role in the murder of Dee Dee, Gypsy Rose broke up with her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn, who is currently serving life without parole for committing the killing.

Gypsy's desire for romance was furthered in 2019 when she got engaged to a man named Ken who she met through the pen pal initiative run by the prison.

Eyebrows were soon raised by rumors of a split that emerged shortly after their Missouri wedding in June. Gypsy Rose hinted at filing for an annulment in a heartfelt letter to her family, citing differences in their lives.

"It is with a heavy heart that this morning I made a decision to go ahead and file for annulment and end my marriage with Ryan," Gypsy Rose expressed. However, despite the announcement, the legal paperwork for the annulment was never filed.

However, in a surprising turn of events, Gypsy Rose confirmed in mid-2023 that the couple decided to remain together, dismissing rumors of their separation.

Undeterred, she shut down the rumors, asserting her commitment to her marriage.

Gypsy Rose was released from prison on December 28 and has been providing updates on her life since moving in with her 37-year-old husband, a special education teacher from Louisiana.

Speaking on The Viall Files podcast, Gypsy Rose opened up about her first moments of freedom. "My husband picked me up and then we drove to a hotel that we got locally," she said.

"We spent the night, we had our first intimate moments as husband and wife, got to consummate our marriage, which was great."

When questioned about her experiences, given her history of abuse, Gypsy Rose went on: "It was so sweet. I have a past of sexual abuse, so I was molested when I was nine by my grandfather, and in my relationship with Nicholas there was some sexual abuse, it was just a really toxic relationship.

"So coming from a place where I never had a sex life, I never felt safe, it was like being used and abused, one person after another. With Ryan, he didn't say, 'We have to have sex the first night'. It was like, 'If you want to, let it happen naturally.'"

She also opened up about fears she had over her appearance, saying: "I'm like, what happens if he doesn't like the way I look or I'm nervous about just being naked too. I have scars on my body and so, in prison, it's not like he got to see me before he married me.

"They say you have to drink the milk before you buy the cow and that didn't happen for us. I was extremely nervous but then within 10 minutes I was like, okay, this is happening and I felt totally comfortable and totally safe," she concluded.
