Yay! After a couple of weeks away from the cameras and social media so they could try and enjoy married life, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their first public appearance in a little while (though I don't know about you, but it felt like absolutely forever). As we all know, Meghan Markle's a bit of a foodie, so it wasn't really a surprise when her first act as a royal was to bring out a cookbook.
Together: Our Community Cookbook is set to be released September 25, and comes out to benefit the Hubb Community Kitchen, which came to being on the back of the horrific Grenfell Tower fire, which happened in London last year. It's a worthy cause, but all those book lovers were bound to go hungry at some point.
At the launch event for the cookbook, Meghan Markle and her mother Doria Ragland put together a lunch at the launch of her cookbook that was truly fitting of a royal. What's even better - some of the foods on display at the event were actually part of the cookbook itself. So, what did she have for the guests to enjoy?
If you know Meghan Markle's food preferences at all - which, after all this time writing about them, I really hope you do - you know that the girl loves her some carbs. But you also know that she gets her palate from a whole host of different countries and regions. So it's no surprise that her lunch was a mini trip around the world in itself.
If you were lucky enough to head to Meghan's launch event, you would have been able to choose from coconut chicken curry, Ugandan eggplant Masala and Middle Eastern kofta (which are essentially kebabs). For dessert, there was a caramelised plum upside down cake from Algeria.
“I felt, on a personal level, so proud to live in a city that can have so much diversity. That there are 12 countries represented in this one small room is pretty outstanding," said Meghan to the gathered masses at the London event, but one food item in particular got considerably more press than the others.
For that, you'll have to thank Prince Harry.
As any supportive husband would, Harry was watching on with pride as Meghan wowed the crowd with her food and with her speeches, but unfortunately, that level of dedication to the one you love works up quite an appetite. So when cameras noticed Harry walking suspiciously away from the snack table, they probably should have known what was up.
Behold: Prince Harry stealing some Indian samosas at the snack table, and grinning when he realises cameras caught him doing so. They must have been delicious, then. It's clear, though, that Prince Harry loves food. To that end, I think that Meghan Markle is just about the perfect companion for him.
Those two are going to have a lot of fun food times, you'd think.
