If you happen to be a celebrity and a mother, you better watch out, as it appears that mom-shamers are lurking at every turn, looking for the perfect opportunity to inform you that you're doing everything wrong.

Singer and fashion designer, Jessica Simpson, has had her fair share of it - but this time around, she decided that enough was enough.

The 39-year-old regularly shares snaps of her kids - 7-year-old Maxwell, 6-year-old Ace, and 5-month-old Birdie - however, negative comments on a recent Instagram post about her youngest made her snap into action.

Last week, Jessica shared a picture of Birdie on a seat. "This bird couldn’t be more adorable #blueeyes," she captioned the sweet snap.

And the trolls came out in full force. "Straps on this car seat do not provide correct support," wrote one social media user, while another added "That hard buckle should be on her sternum instead of her belly to be optimally effective and not cause more harm if a car accident would happen (God forbid!)."

Others, however, rushed to Jessica's defence, pointing out that Birdie was sitting in a stroller, not a car seat. "Well maybe you should look again and see it’s a stroller instead of mom shaming," wrote one person.

"People over here giving out car seat advice when it’s a DANG STROLLER," added another.

But instead of rising to the occasion, or letting the comments filter in unchecked, the singer simply turned them off. Score.

This is not the first time that Jessica has been mom-shamed. Last month, she was roundly criticised for allowing her daughter, Maxwell, to dye her hair. The erstwhile reality television star posted a picture of the 7-year-old old during and after a visit to the salon. The latter showed a fun, multi-coloured hue on the ends of Maxwell's hair.

"Inspired by The Descendants #901girl #MAXIDREW," Jessica captioned the picture.

The comments quickly rolled in. "Isn't she too young to have her hair dyed?" wrote one Instagram user, and another corroborated "Why start ruining her hair so young."
