JoJo Siwa shut down a mom who posted a hateful comment when she came out last week.

In an Instagram Live over the weekend, the 17-year-old confirmed that she is a member of the LGBTQ+ community. JoJo also shared her gratitude for her fans and told them this was the happiest she had ever been.

She did not specifically reveal how she personally identifies, saying: "I'm not ready to say this answer because I don't really know this answer. I think humans are incredible people.

"Right now, what matters is that you guys know that no matter who you love that it's OK and that it's awesome, and the world is there for you! There are so many people that are there for you."

JoJo added: "I always believed that my person was just going to be my person. If that person happened to be a boy - great! If that person happened to be a girl - great!"

The children's entertainer and former Dance Moms star has received a number of positive comments about her decision to come out.

Unfortunately, not everyone had kind things to say.

In fact, one mom took to the comments to tell JoJo: "My daughter will never watch you again."

Now, there are a number of ways JoJo could have replied to the unnecessarily hateful comment, but she responded in the best possible way.

Sharing just how unbothered she is by the irrelevant opinion of a stranger on the internet, JoJo simply wrote: "Okay!"

Speculation around the YouTuber's sexuality started when the teenager uploaded a video to her TikTok account in which she lip-syncs the words to Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way'.

In the video, the following lyrics can be heard: "No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian transgender life / I'm on the right track baby, I was born to survive."

She then posted a photo on Twitter of her in a t-shirt, which read: "Best. Gay. Cousin. Ever."

JoJo rose to fame on the show Dance Moms back in 2015 before starting out as a successful YouTuber and children's entertainer. Last year, she was named one of TIME magazine's Most Influential People 2020.
