After splitting up with Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber announced his engagement to Hailey Baldwin. They've only been dating since May, but apparently it's serious. The 24-year-old singer personally picked out and designed a beautiful $500,000 engagement ring. According to Justin's jeweler, he looked into the diamond with a magnifying glass and said, "I think I see Hailey's face."
Justin has been open about his relationship with Hailey. On Instagram, he shared a steamy photo, making out with his bride-to-be in a hot tub. It's pretty romantic, until you realize the photographer had to be in the hot tub with them. John Mayer roasted Justin in the comments, writing, "That’s gotta feel super third wheel." True, but who wouldn't want to Jailey's third wheel? He's probably just jealous he couldn't be in the hot tub too.
Today people tend to wait until their 30's to get married, and spend their 20's in a drunken blur of one night stands. However, Justin seems excited to settle down. In an emotional post on Instagram, he gushed about how much he loves Hailey.
"Listen plain and simple Hailey I am soooo in love with everything about you! So committed to spending my life getting to know every single part of you loving you patiently and kindLY. I promise to lead our family with honor and integrity letting Jesus through his Holy Spirit guide us in everything we do and every decision we make. My heart is COMPLETELY and FULLY YOURS and I will ALWAYS put you first! You are the love of my life Hailey Baldwin and I wouldn’t want to spend it with anybody else. "
The couple seems pretty happy, so Beliebers were surprised to see photos of them crying in public. Justin and Hailey were riding Citibikes around New York City, and then something must have happened, because they pulled over to have an emotional breakdown. The internet laughed, and then the internet was like, "Are you guys okay?" Why were they crying? Did they break up? Did they just watch The Notebook? Did they just find out that ABC cancelled Roseanne?
Now we finally have an answer. Sort of. Last night a TMZ photographer caught up with Justin as he was leaving Hailey's apartment building in Brooklyn. The singer seemed like he was in good mood, pausing to take photos with fans. The photographer asked why the couple was crying the other day. Justin replied, "This," and held up a book: The Meaning of Marriage: Facing the Complexities of Commitment with the Wisdom of God by Timothy Keller. "You got good days, and you got bad days. It’s not real if it doesn’t have any bad days," said Justin.
Does that explain the crying? I hope so, because Justin did not elaborate, hopping into a car to do rich people things. On Amazon, the book description reads: "Based on the acclaimed sermon series by New York Times bestselling author Timothy Keller, this book shows everyone—Christians, skeptics, singles, longtime married couples, and those about to be engaged—the vision of what marriage should be according to the Bible."
Well, Beliebers can sleep easy, because it seems like everything's fine.
