Kate Beckinsale has worried fans on social media after sharing photos of herself in hospital.

On Monday (March 11), the 50-year-old actress - who is known for her performances in films such as Click, Serendipity, and Van Helsing - took to Instagram to share pictures that sparked concern among her fanbase.

The post was a tribute to her mother Judy Loe in honor of Mother’s Day - which was on Sunday (March 10) in the United Kingdom - and included a screenshot of a conversation between the pair, in which the 77-year-old thanked her daughter for her presents.

Beckinsale also shared a heartwarming footage of her cheery mom opening a bottle of champagne for her birthday - which was on March 6 - as well as selfies of the actress's mother.

Despite the post being a lovely commemoration to her mom, the Underworld actress shocked fans after adding an image of herself looking teary-eyed whilst in a hospital bed.

Beckinsale is seen donning a blue gown and a large black headband with a bow on her head, with a monitor beside her. Another picture showed her friend keeping her company.

In the caption, she penned: "Happy birthday and UK Mother’s Day this last week to my incredible mother. Thank you to those that love us and support us when it’s s*** and try to make sure there are some bits that aren’t.

"And for looking after our dogs when we can’t, and lead us to remember happy things when we can’t. And turn up when we are sick and sit with us. And send balloons and check in and pull us out of wells with love," she continued.

The Pearl Harbor star added: "Thank you for loving us, those who do, and for the amazing, kindest Nick, and especially for my mother's capacity for joy. It is so inspiring and beautiful.

"Happy everything mama. Your fight for joy despite also welcoming tears is the experience of watching a warrior up close. I love you," she concluded.

Many of the award-winning actress's followers sent messages of support and questioned why she was hospitalized.

One user wrote: "Why are you in the hospital? What's happened?" while another said: "Kate what happened? Why hospital? Sending healing energy."

A third commented: "I pray for your recovery, whatever it is you may be going through Kate," and a fourth added: "That's such a sweet post for your mum and I hope you will better soon Kate and have a speedy recovery."

Over the years, Beckinsale has been candid about her physical health.

Back in 2019, she revealed she was in the hospital after suffering a ruptured ovarian cyst - which is "a cyst on your ovary [that] can be found during a pelvic exam or on an imaging test, such as a pelvic ultrasound," according to the Mayo Clinic.

At the time, she shared a photo of herself from her hospital bed on Instagram, with a breathing tube in her nose. A second snap showed her lying in the hospital bed.

The actress explained why she shared the post about her ruptured ovary, stating at the time: "It’s actually not a selfie. My mum took it. I would not have posted it if we had not noticed someone in a car taking a photo of me leaving the hospital in a wheelchair," as reported by CNN.

"I have Instagram largely to have my own honest narrative and not have to always be ambushed by stories that come out that are invented, I’d prefer to say what happened than endure speculation and so I chose to share," she continued.

"I agree, it’s not a normal impulse," Beckinsale wrote. "But it’s not normal to be photographed in vulnerable situations by people you don’t know either. (If you were interested in knowing the provenance of this, which, you probably are not.)."
